- Been a Honda fan since I was three, when my mom bought our first one, an 80 Accord Hatchback. Beige in color with a 5spd. Since then we've had several more Accords, Civics, CRXs, Integras, and even 2 CRVs. Of course it was natural that my first car was to be a Honda, a 79 Beige Accord Hatchback 5spd, identical to the one that started it all. Also a big fan of Toyota trucks, thus the 4Runner. Came into the Type R May of '01. A friend from Knoxville, TN owned her, and with kid number three on the way, the ITR was on the way out. He didn't have to look for a buyer. One drive and I was hooked. VTEC may possibly be one of the most addictive substances on the planet. I've driven faster cars - C5 6spds, M3s, NSX, S2000, 911s, etc. Something about the little VTEC motor they don't have.
