- my names jake, i recently purchased a 87 prelude from my ex girlfriend for $200 dollars because she ran the transmission out of oil and cooked 5th gear. 150 dollars later i have a new tranny and the engine runs excellent. this summer i'm going to repaint it the factory red color, lower it 1.5 inches, get some 16 or 17 inch rims (gunmetal), and repair minor interior defects. i work at an automotive repair shop specializing in transmission repair and am currently attending ferris state university majoring in automotive service technology.
