xentec hid kit? any good
I've been thinking about getting hids for my civic and xentec's are the ones at the top of my list
manly because they dont charge extra for the slim ballast, they come with a warranty, and their relatively cheap around $35 shipped.
Only thing im not sure about is if their a good company and if their products are any good.
My friend ordered 6k hids and they look light blue greeish like 8k or something not too appealing
So I wanted to know if you guys could give me any info on this thanks

Re: xentec hid kit? any good
In my experience, Xentec's aren't good.. They cause interference with the radio, most of the time i had to rapidly turn the headlight switch on and off to get them to start, and within 9 months my bulbs burned out, i don't mean burned as in they just stopped working but the base of the hid bulb was literally burnt into my headlight. These of course were not the slim ballasts. you may have luck with them or you may not. I went to V-leds and purchased their Hid kit. Its been about a year since i had them and so far i have not yet ran into any issues.

They are trash. The ballasts fail often and that's if you are lucky enough to get a working pair in the first place.
Many people experience flickering and powering on issues or having them turn off at random times.
The warranty is good for nothing. God forbid you actually get an email back from the company (which you won't), they won't do a thing about a failed ballast, bulb or whatever.
Others have suggested DDM Tuning kits, which is what I replaced my failed Xentec kit with, and am pretty happy so far. At least it came with working ballasts unlike the Xentec kit I bought.

Also, my friends hids they have been working perfectly for about 4 months now and the glare isnt too bad but the color is not 6k or 8k its a really dumb greenish color so im thinking they may not have the actual 6k bulbs since they gave him those.
My friend loves them and hes telling me to get them but im thinking about staying oem for now until I can find some good hids.

Xentec is a nonexistent company. Just a name on a box on HIDs that were cheaply assembled and sent from China. Granted, DDM Tuning also produces and ships their products from China, but for some reason most reviews are positive on their end.

I just recently purchased xentec 30k slim ballast hid kit without reading any reviews (I know, dumb) but they had 90% positive feedback on eBay but after looking around on the forums I am super leery and thinking about just selling them on Craigslist or something...I have yet to install them but I'm not sure if I want to. I'd like to hear more feedback from you guys out there about their slim kit.

TSPNY check out their HID kits. They have videos of them being put into fish tanks and turned on. Great output and 55w if I remember correctly. Lasted for 2 years with zero problems until I sold the car they were in.

Re: xentec hid kit? any good
I've had Xentec in my one car for nearly 2 years no problems, they are often pretty good for the price, especially for being an eBay brand. Like stated above, the kits from TSPNY have fantastic ballasts, awesome quality for the price, but the bulbs are just okay, one had blown out on me in the first month, but the customer support is good and they replaced it for me. Honestly I'd go with a Xentec kit if I needed to buy another set, for $35 you can't beat it. And if you ever need new bulbs you can get a set on eBay for about $14.

Re: xentec hid kit? any good
I don't have an answer to the question. But I do have a question about the Xentec kit. The car I recently purchased has this kit in it and one of my headlights went out. Does anyone know where I can find a bulb for this kit.
This is what is on the bulb N-1 HC 015 but I can't find it anywhere.
Thanks for any help I can get.

Re: xentec hid kit? any good
I had xentecs in my 99 Honda accord an they lasted for about 4 or 5 months an then the driver side light would just go out on me, I would open the hood look at all the connections an they were good an when I closed the hood sometimes it came back on. Until one day they never turned back on, so I put reg headlights back in to get me home. When I got home I noticed that the ballast smelled like the chip had fried. So I opened the ballast case an the whole board on the ballast was melted. An it blew my headlight fuse too. So in my opinion I would stay away from the cheap HID kits from eBay that's all they are is cheap.

Re: xentec hid kit? any good
xentec Ballasts suck...They dont give the bulbs enough juice, ive bought 6 xentec slim ballasts the light out put is really bad and they go out in about 6 months....then i got some ddm ballasts with generic bulbs and what a HUGE difference in brightness even with the generic hid bulbs.....DDM is the way to go
