Default What brand of PnP HID kit?

I did a search and couldn't find any comparisons of the PnP HID kits available in the sale forum. From the pictures, they all look like the same kit with different stickers on them, so I'm wondering if there are any differences in quality, reliability, and performance between the brands in the sale forum. Particularly, I'm looking for info and comparisons on the following brands:

- no-name from member "operatic"
- xenonlink.com brand
- xenoneyes.com brand
- Xenith brand from member "xenithxenons"
- Xentec brand from member "xenon911"
- Mod Express brand from member "mod express"
- Banbo brand from member "banboHID"

prices are all pretty close from $120 to $140 shipped. What are the differences? Thanks for your help!

check for the one that gives you the best warranty! and check to see where it's made, i heard ones from korea tend to not last as long and make sure that the ballast and bulb is waterproof!

xenonlink.com is okay so far, do NOT go bi-xenon....there's no reason to with these pnp gay kits. I suggest RETRO FIT ftw!!!

I got mine here.

http://stores.ebay.com/JDM-HID-CONVERSION-KITS

They are pretty reliable b/c the manual is all printed in Japanese.

The kit comes with 1 year warranty.

It's around 140~150usd but I don't feel good about these 45usd china junk. Stay away from HID kits below 100usd and you will be fine.

Paying more doesn't mean you get better product, just means you're giving the seller more profit. Most warranties are as valid as the seller so chooses and frankly that's anywhere from great to "what warranty". With this seller he's buying his kits in bulk from a manufacturer so the "warranty" is at his choosing. And what does the manual being printed in Japanese have to do with quality? Just means they got cheap/lazy on printing their paperwork.... If you're going to buy PNP why pay more than 100 bucks when 90% of the kits are from the same manufacturing plants in china?

Oh and the "under 100 buck junk kits" I've purchase had yet to get a complaint about. One has been going for almost a year now (switched vehicles four times now). But the kit I got for 250 had the bulbs go out in a month and the seller gave me the shaft....

Thanks for the replies guys, but no one has any experience with the kits I mentioned? Those are the ones available in the FS forum. I don't know where they're made, and even if I asked, how do I know the seller's telling the truth anyways? All the kits I listed come with a 1yr warranty, but as stated above, that's only as good as the shop warrantying it.

So, no experiences with these brands?

i quoted "xenonlink.com" as I just got them installed two weeks ago, they're okay...still retro ftw. like i said, BI-XENON is uselsss....i just found my passenger side bi-xenon doesn't work... btw, the xenonlink.com brand is "brightstar HID" google them....it's a Taiwanese company ... I wouldn't doubt most of the brands you listed are from similar third-world countries

How do you know that you are giving the seller more profit? Have you been a HID seller?

From my experience, I got my first kit for 65 usd from CHINA which burned out in TWO weeks. That's right! Two weeks. Below 100 is ridiculous. This my 2nd HID conversion kit. How do I know this kit made in Japan? B/C the original company website is located in Japan.

http://www.tokyo-subaru.biz/

Just for Reference!!

If you think these kits are still CHINA made, I have nothing to comment. All I can say is you pay for what you get. If you get better than what you pay, you are just lucky. You can't always be lucky.

.... my car is a honda based out of japan but the car was built in the U.S. ....

I've purchased four different kits (bulb types) from the same seller and had zero issues (one kit has been going for over a year and even thru having it's power strobed from a DRL it's still fine) all for under 100 bucks shipped, I got one for 250 with a "life time warranty" had both bulbs burn out in two months and the seller give me the shaft.... Don't take my word for it, form your own opinion.

To the OP, I'd say buy from the seller on here, at the least you have access and a way of making communication and feed back...

Sorry I apologize for being rude. I just want to share my info. We all have to be careful of high voltage stuff.

Paying under $200 for any HID kit is rediculous. I would be highly wary of quality with prices that cheap. You can't even find new OEM Philips, Hella, or Matsishuta ballasts for less than $200/pair, unless prices have REALLY dropped these days.

I paid $400 nearly 5 years ago for my first HID kit, but I think that was mostly because it came with OEM Philips Gen 3 ballasts w/ the OEM D2 connector on it. When I did my retrofit, all I had to do was buy projectors, and new D2S bulbs and I was good to go.

So I've been using the same Philips ballasts for nearly 5 years now. I don't see a $150 kit lasting that long.

i would never pay less than 100 or more than 200 dollars for a kit..

I'm probably going with the mod-express kit though

ANd no offense, but this is why things go wrong. People want the look but are unwilling to spend the money, then they get headaches dealing with the problems.

I've gone through ricer bulbs and brighter bulbs and a pretty pricey HID kit, and the only thing I have to say is if you want HID, retrofit is the only way to go. Nothing else gives you good results. All you're getting is more light, not better light, until you retrofit.

That is some impressive logic.

Agreed Antioch lol

I can't nor would I spend that much for a retrofit Accord, I don't have a garage, and I park on the street, I'm not risking 800 dollars to just bring more attention of getting stolen. I would love to I realy would but not here.

sux about that.... i did my retrofit when I lived in an apartment. We had covered parking so it wasn't totally bad, but the other people living in my building probably were like WTF is going on when my car was sitting there with no front bumper or front fenders
