Foglight help
Ok, so there are many brands of fogs out there and I recently bought a civic with them already installed. Long story short they need to be replaced. I was wondering if the connectors were the same for all fogs no matter the brand or should I get a picture up and go from there? the connector is oval shaped with two pins roughly a 1/4 apart. I wouldn't be asking this question if websites would show it but I guess it isn't that important, ha ha. thanks.
-Oops forgot to mention my car is a 1996 EX with an Si front, ha ha, I suppose that might help. Again, sorry this is a really dumb question but plausible none the less.

Re: Foglight help (infinitypro12)
Post up some pictures.
And what kind of foglights are they? Universal fit, OEM or OEM style?
Also, what needs to be replaced? The whole foglight lamp assembly, or just the bulbs?

Re: Foglight help (White95SiHB)
Hope this works, I've never really used image shack.
Anyway, I am unsure of the whole situation, I bought the car with the lights broken and am finally looking to replace them or fill the holes. I'm almost 100% they are not OEM because I've seen them on ebay listed as Titanium Chrome Lenses, which aren't my favorite. I just want some that work. I have all the wiring and I just disconnected the pigtail leading into the light, about 5 inches long. These things were thrashed! but they did work for a little and having shattered lenses isn't very classy so I took them off. Hope the pic helps a little. Thanks.

Re: Foglight help (infinitypro12)
That looks like an 8xx pigtail, which will fit 881, 889, 894, 896, 898, 886, 896.
Are the base of your bulbs L-shaped? I'm guessing you need #894 bulbs, which are 35w foglight bulbs.
My coupe has foglights just like these:
Notice the L-shaped 894 bulbs.
*EDIT*
I just clicked on your pic to see the bigger size and upon seeing it in better detail I just realized that that is not a 894 pigtail as I previously mentioned.
Can you post a pic of bulbs? I'll try and find out what pigtail that is.

Re: Foglight help (White95SiHB)
Not to jack your thread, but can someone tell me what type of bulb this is? I swear it is an H3, but it is a hair smaller than the H3 I pulled out of my USDM foglight....and the connetor on the end of the pigtail is a round pin type connector, opposed to a SPADE. I can't find this bulb anywhere...store or online.

Hey, its cool, no worries man. I would suggest searching for other bulbs to maybe see if may be something else, but if you say it is USDM you should be able to ask a dealer or try http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com.
As for my situation, I haven't pulled the bulbs out yet, but any leads on the connector and who sells the fogs that have that type would be great. I just don't want to rewire my set up if I can find some that will fit.

That's an H3. Most of the ones I've dealt with have the spade connector, but some do have those male connectors.
I recently changed the H3 bulbs on the foglights of my mom's 93 Caravan. The bulbs I were putting in had the same male plug like in your pic, and I had to use a crimper to flatten the male plug so that it will fit in the female spade connector of the wiring harness.
infinitypro12, I saw this pigtail on autolumination.com, but it doesn't look like a male 9005 connector to me.

It looks close to me but my main question is can you confirm a set of fog lights that I can buy to replace my old ones that the d-bag before me shattered? thanks for the info thus far.

Thanks man, but earlier I took out the H3 from my USDM fog light and cut off that "pin" type pigtail from the burnt out bulb....crimped a female spade onto the end of that then plugged that "pin" back into the headlight harness. Then plugged the male spade from the H3 bulb into the pigtail I just made and BINGO....worked like a charm. About to do it to the other side too...just for future sake.

I'm at a loss as to what your harness is. I tried looking online but that pic I posted earlier was the closest match I can find, and I doubt it's a 9005 Male connector since the pic in that site and the one you showed is obviously a female connector.
I'd really like to see your bulb so that I can make a better assesment. Post a pic if you can.
Also, do you know what brand those foglights are?

Re: (sde780)
The harness is already there, ha ha, I just need someone to recognize the connector which appears to be roughly a 9005 and let me know that their fogs work with that kind of connector. If someone would walk out to their car and give me a yes or no and a place to buy, that would be sweet.

Re: (infinitypro12)
it is not a 9005 or 9006 connector.
the picture of your plug does not have the two or one notch used for 9005 and 9006.
your plug does not have the notch(es).
