Price of K Series and B Series - 2014 Market Price
Ok, I've been out of Honda scene for awhile and wanting to get back into it soon.
I've been looking at an EH hatch and do engine swap down the road.
I was doing some research and price of k series (k20/k24) and b series (b16/b18c) seems to have changed by a lot.
Is it correct that in current market, k series is cheaper than b series engine?
Am I not looking at the right places? Or market changed due to supply and demand?
Thanks for reading and please share opinion and facts.

There are so many swaps, engines, transmissions... With different prices. B series Type R seems to be holding value, even GSR or B16 are holding value and could increase in value with time and rarity. But you can build them dirt cheap, especially lsvtec or rebuilds which can be just as good. It seems the transmissions are kind of hit and miss, and paying for a low miles lsd trans in good shape is a bit pricey.
K series, the K20A is kind of pricey, along with the lsd trans but other k series swaps like the k24a2 seem like a bargain. Great performance/ potential for the price. Obviously there is plenty availability.
it'd be nice to have a magical swap with k motor b trans. id pay an arm and a leg for that.

You can find k20a2/k20z1 swaps actually cheaper than a JDM b series itr swap and allmost the same price as a gsr swap. Its the k series swap components that is much more expensive. And the trannies are more fragile. Definitely run amsoil mtf in the tranny. At the end, you will be super happy with the kswap. I have had a gsr swap before. And k series blows it away.

I have seen full GSR swaps going for ~$1500 (engine, trans, shift linkage, axles, mounts, etc).
I have seen K series engine/trans going for around the same price, ~$1-2k. BUT That doesnt include any mounts, or ecu, or axles, or fuel components...
All said and done, you will be into a K swap ~$3k in components alone, then just add the engine/trans price on top of that.
