maybe this is a stupid question...

but why would AEM put the cold air CLOSER to the exhaust manifold?

no, it is not a stupid question..

That is a rsx type s intake use on a K EG. Sure that is not ideal, but believe me.. The area right in front of the motor where the radiator is blowing away the hot air is bad as well..
That is why the ideal intake position is to be routed in from of the car getting only clean and cold air... AEM actually now sells a K hybrid intake as well that goes under the side of the car..

Nikos - I got my K20a.org shirt in the mail the other day. I love it. Thx.

I've got a question about axles and hub compatibility. I'm in the process of putting a K20 in my EF DX hatch and, naturally, I want to upgrade the brakes since I will have about 150% more power. I'm considering doing an ITR 5 lug or the earlier 4x114 ITR conversion. I've heard that you can use the base model RSX axles for the swap into a DX or Si. Will these axles still work if I go with one of the ITR susp set ups?

Also, do you know if the Full-Race cross member will bolt up to the ITR susp?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I am not sure on the spline count on the 96 ITR hub. My guess is NO. I would have to ask someone that knows more about this issue. I think the ITR has bigger diameter hubs.

sorry. no video yet of my car..

I shot a few but not what I wanted to do.

I want to do a video with

1-2-3-4-5-6 run
6th gear run from 10 mph
downshift to 4th gear run
top speed run
etc...

But I am having trouble capturing the sound of the motor because my camera is cheapo. Once I get a good spot to mount a new camera, I wil post that video. Probably not for a while,

I'm not sure about Hybrid, but I know the Hasport harness requires a core exchange for them to build one. So I would guess that it just plugs in. A lot of the info out is farely vague on the wiring part of this swap. Someone enlighten us.

Ok, here's how it works.

You use the type s harness to connect the motor with the ECU.

2 plugs will go in the ecu.. one is left unplugged (the c101 plug us left unplugged)

on the other passenger side, under the dash,

you disconnect the c302

and connect the plug from the pnp harness

On the PNP harness, you take the big male grey plug and connect with the c101 that was left. last you connect the eplug from the hybrid pnp harness to the ecu.

At this point, you are almost finished. What you need to do, is go to the stock A plug that used to connect to the D series ECU and ground the fuel pump and connect the eplug pin 1 with a7, a8 an d a9.

At this point, it really depends what car you have, obd1, obd 2, obd 2.5, DC, eg, etc.... K pro, JDM ecu, k20a2 stock ecu.. they all have small differences that will make the fuel pump prime...

On my eg with K pro, that is pretty much what I did. Hybrid harness has been changing overtime so they might require a few extra steps etc...

I also did not mention that you are going to have to manually connect a few wires from the harness to the engine temp sensor so that the cluster displays a temp reading, anotehr wire to one of the engine harness for the charging light to be active, another wire to the brake booster for low level brake fluid warning... Of course that is if you want that...

if u have 96 spec itr base rsx axels will work since both are 32 spline... now if u wanna go 5 lug, u can use base axles with ctr, or usdm itr 5 lug, and if u wanna use type s axles, then get jdm 5 lug from a itr
