I got an H22 96 hatch....

Bad:
axles don't hold up longer than 9 months (EBAY)
gas mileage isn't the greatest when I feel like steppin on it

Good:
Run high 13's at the track with just i/h/e
doesn't vibrate on my car with HASPORT mounts
great torque
GREAT ENGINE!

If it's a turbo the first thing you should focus on is making sure you have solid upgrades to the intake and exhaust.

3" exhaust with a 3" muffler as well. Big throttle body. And getting a solid set of cams wouldn't be a bad idea either.

Good suspension and some solid brakes wouldn't hurt either if you haven't modified those either.

This doesn't really fit with the intent of the thread however.

I am glad i swa this thread. i was browsing mounts and ow, you simply remove your trans mounts (similar to a k ot J sswap). it seems soo much more reasonable than cutting the mount half way through, re-drilling the hole.

as far as the weight issue, i think its a difference of 80 pounds swa for swap with fluids th a B series swap. i see the power gains and potential to be a bit higher, so worth the trade. i just wish you could use the hybrid racing shifter FOR SURE with these swaps.

Hello, I recently became in love with my car after I got this h22 swapped
Into my cb7. I'm new to all these car stuff so I don't even know anything.. But I have this problem when I got my car Dyno tuned. Now this is a jdm h22a, so once I got my Dyno results I was completely depressed. My results were 126 hp and 131 torque. This is a stock h22a with OEM headers
And my stock accord's exhaust. The person who Dyno tuned my car said that if I just got some bigger headers and a 2.5 exhaust pipe not cranked, my car will push out atleast over 180hp... I am having doubts... Can anyone tell me if buying after market headers
And exhaust
Will really increase my hp that much?

126WHP for H22!? now way in hell. even with the stock restrictive accord exhaust ad oem manifold you should be making over 170whp easy. there is somthing major going wrong. you could make those numbers if your vtec was not cracking.

my single cam z6 makes 188. wtf. find a stocl manual obd1 ecu for accord, plug it in, and you will make that kind of power. sounds like you need to post up your dyno slips. either that or post up the shop so anyone wanting what you have can avoid them.

yeah I agree post your dyno up. the torque is almost right but would be way higher with a decent header and nice 2.5inch piping.

here is my H23A Vtec(BlueTop) with a nice tune on stage 2 cams with boltons

older h22's got around 26-30 average. the newer ones 22-26. but in a lighter chassis like the civics i would say around 26-32, thats what i got in mine in 2009 with my h2b swap stock motor with bolt ons

I'm sorry but you are a ****in idiot just cuz you lose to an H even though you make 300whp+ on a sohc turbo torque plays a big role not just hp numbers.
I have a euro r h22 and I was the second fastest honda in my town/im talkin bout street racing scene of course.

I just placed a H22A into a 1995 EK3 that had a D15. It went in fine but the problem I have is the axles. What to use? The splines of the H22A CV is larger than the puny D15. For now I will machine down a CRV drive plate hub 1/100" and reuse the H22 shafts in a the Honda CRV hub. Hope this works. Any ideas

Without a $1000 header and some very aggressive cams you won't be anywhere near that.

I've got an H23A, ITR Trans, MFactory LSD, Logic Header, 70mm TB, 3" intake, 2.5" exhaust, and I'm making 207whp with a stock engine/bottom end.

And that's with balance shafts removed. Not to mention a better motor.

Cams and a seriously good tune will be the only thing that get you close to your goals and even then I think you're going to need some tricks, like a thin head gasket, balance shaft delete, and some flat faced valves perhaps to bump your compression a bit.

Cool story bro.

Doesn't matter, 250whp isn't happening without taking the engine apart.
