Thinking about buying this s2000...link inside
I've always wanted an s2K since i first saw one in 99. My cousin had one and i drove it pretty often for about 1 year. I really like the car, i feel like its made for me..lol.
Anyway the interior is knd of throwing me off, and the hardtop. I can't tell what kind of brand it is and what its really worth. I know it has tein suspension. Also the miles i know they are somewhat normal for that year but kind of weary about it. What do you all think?

Thanks!

Blue interior is rare. Not for everyone but rare non the less. That top is either an authentic mugen or a seibon copy of a mugen. Either way it is work quite a bit as long as the fitment is correct.

I also heard that the Seibon is the next best copy out there and it fits pretty well. Just have to see it in person.

its nice no lie. but for 14k? your better off spending at least 10500 for an ap1 from a private owner,With that you'll have lower miles and no payments depending on how your paying for it.nice car tho

Not the best deal IMO but if that is what you really wanted, mod wise, then go for it... Similar cars can be had for around 12-13k with the right negotiation. That interior has been swapped out, that car came with tan interior. Something to consider.

u have no idea what your talking about man... there are no clean non damaged s2k ap1 for 10k... iv been looking for the past 2 months and every single s2k iv seen is damaged from the front.. and i have yet to see a white one thats forsale.. 10k dollar ap1's are JUNK. dont talk if you have no experience. dont give out fake info. also every owner that i spoke to over the phone claimed there car was clean and never been hit but each one was missing vin tags and had been re sprayed and there asking prices were about 13k for a ap1.

to the OP, i would be very apprehensive when looking at this car seriously in the fact that it has been MODIFIED and has NON stock parts on it. when i see things of this nature on a supposed "stock" car it triggers the various alarms in the head (i.e. has the car been involved in theft, has the previous owner driven the **** out of it?, has it been turbo charged etc. the list goes on)
while the appearance of this car does in fact "look" clean i would be very apprehensive when trying to buy this car if you have never owned a S before and dont know what to look for, etc.
i think people were suggesting you find a unmolested one from a private owner for less and have piece of mind, rather than throwing your self under the bus with is one from a cutthroat bastard dealer...

- Not an '04 Airbag as mentioned (probably had been deployed)
- Blue was not an option for USDM GPW S2000's in any year, it was only for Suzuka (so they probably swapped it)
- Lowered on something
- AP1 rear spoiler
- Appears to be a replica Mugen hardtop

OP, chill out dude. I think it depends on your area. I can find S2000s all day for 8-10 in the Chicago area that have 40K miles or sometimes less.

If you look at the car you might want to ask to pull off the hard top and inspect the soft top. It could have rips and tears in it and you might be able to talk them down.

Carfax helps to put you at ease. But for those who know that you can get around it, Carfax doesn't show all damage. Like when DIYers fix their smashed cars themselves in their driveway. That isn't shown on the reports. But it's a good starting point. Basically, if the Carfax is clean, then it's worth going to look at and THOROUGHLY inspect the car yourself and maybe with another guy, preferrably a technician/body man. It seems like a decent starting price. I bet you can talk the seller down. And if you end up ditching the hardtop, I'll buy it. That is if the "Mi" in "Socal/Mi" means Michigan (I'm in Wisconsin).

I would avoid modded cars from dealers period. Keep looking and you will find a better car and possibly deal.
There are more than several alarms that go off with this car.

THIS CAR IS A GOOD BUY
GPW is sought after, the interior has been swapped, you wil have a very exclusive car. theres only a handful of suzuka blue interior swaps in GPW S2000's in the U.S.
the hardtop is nice, whether its a copy or not, most people have excellent results with replica tops from shine, VIS, or seibon.
my Vote is BUY IT.

It's good to take all things into consideration, to get a carfax report anyway, and to inspect to car yourself. All the parts on the car that didn't come with car don't mean anything whatsoever. The non-'04 air bag doesn't mean the original was deployed, the blue interior doesn't mean the original was stolen/destroyed.
It's a modded car with oem wheels, I get a feeling the previous owner traded it in, but kept or parted out stuff before the trade in. Maybe he had a momo/sparco steering wheel at some point, sold the original like many people do, and found the one that's in the car now to put in before the trade in. Maybe he just liked the blue interior and traded the original to someone who didn't like the blue. The AP1, maybe that was his favorite S2K spoiler! This car might be extremely clean and accident/damage free, it's up to the OP to find out.

I wouldn't buy it. Check out the rest of the cars that they're selling. Looks like a bunch of moded cars. Bad sign.
Aside from that stated above
- Not an 04 airbag, probably been hit or crashed in the front
- Blue interior was not offered with GPW
- Aftermarket HT
- Looks lowered
- has 90k+ miles
I wouldn't buy a car someone else monkeyed around with. Bad idea. As far as the guy saying you'll have an exclusive car with a blue interior. I'll take my non exclusive factory colored interior any day of the week over one someone else swapped.
I would keep looking. I think you can find clean AP2's in the mid-teens range.
If youre really set on buying this car take a look at it and pop the hood. You should be able to find matching vin numbers on the fenders, engine block, firewall, hood and on a tab attached to the top of the front bumper. a tell tale sign a car has been crashed and repaired is missing vin numbers.
