Default Shifter moving too much

Anyone know the DIY mount for Shifter bushings? Or is this the reason why it moves too much.. Even when I press on the gas it seems like it moves too much.. Anyone know why it does this?

Hi there are no "shifter bushings" as such. Does shift stick feel loose or floppy? If no then look at the engine mounts. The rubber can seperate fron the steel causeing the engine to try to roll over. when you jack up car to inspect the mount USE JACK STANDS. Good luck!

a lot of times the shifter needs cleaned and lubed at the lower ball piece. if you do this use a quality grease such as honda hi temp urea.

This happened with my civic and for me the problem was the motor mounts. It was pretty obvious because when I changed pace (speeding up or slowing down) I could feel the motor lurch a little & I would feel the stick jiggle a little.

How much movement? The shifter is attached to the trans directly. So it's going to move as much as the drivetrain does.

i had this problem when i first bought my car. upon inspection i found that all three mounts were broken in half. i replaced them with some innovative mounts and problem solved.

another thing that can cause a little too much shifter movement is the axle cups being worn. if you notice a vibration from the car at highway speeds coming from the rear, that is the problem. you can take the axles apart and swap the cups and the problem will be solved. just did it to mine.
