ive read a lot of people spin out from not being able to handle a RWD car..

currently ive got a 1990 300zx TT and i havent gotten into any hairy situations, and i've autocrossed it a few times..

do you think this will be a problem?

If you're not used to FR, yes, you can get yourself into sticky situations. This is especially the case in rainy weather. Just drive carefully, within the speed limit, and keep all inputs smooth. You'll be fine.

Well, according to autocross rules, THe S2000 is a mid-engine rear wheel drive car. (The strut tower bar is ahead of the engine, blah blah)

And yes, this is a much different animal in comparison to the STI or even your 300zx.

Me personally I love the TT Fairlady, why don't you just make a beast out of her?

I have an STI, my wife has an S2000. Mine's faster, her's handles phenomonally stock. Without boosting, mods will be "almost" pointless. Do you want a good starting platform, or do you want something that's great out of the box, and you won't mod? Cause they're both great, but if you wanna mod it, the STI will be the better "bargain". Once again, test drive both, and decide for yourself. You're asking in an S2000 forum, what do you think the majority would prefer?

most ppl on this forum will prolly tell you to get an S2000 because most ppl r bias but they wont be obvious about it.

You will feel more G's in an STi: straight light and lateral. No questions lol. FR cars are def cool, but it really takes a skilled driver to bring it out its max handling properties without being hazardous. Most consumers will find the STi a "better" performance car and all around daily driver. My vote goes to the STi.


since everyone does have their own opinions, go ahead and test drive them because they really are different cars. Well tuned N/A and turbo engines feel COMPLETELY different.

STi's, or 4WDs in general, are fast consistently, regardless of condition. It takes experience and practice to get an FR to that same level. You can call it cheating if you want, the STi will outperform the S2000 in almost every aspect. Boost an S2000, though, and you start to rethink your answer. It's part drivetrain, but also part power delivery. I've raped an N/A Impreza up and down a mountain. Are you still comparing apples and oranges, or cherries and rambutans?

Drive them both. Which ever car makes you ***** tingle more, buy it. Don't forget stainproof seat covers.
