Just picked up a 05 S2K. What little things are their to keep an eye one?
Greetings, at the risk of being flamed I'll proceed.
Picked up a stock 05 S2K a couple of weeks ago. Just wondering if there is any lil things I should keep an eye on, screws to check, lil quirks to be careful of etc.
Example, a few days ago as I closed my roof latch a screw fell from the ceiling but I had no clue where it was from so I kept it in my center console. Just yesterday my latch completely seized and jammed up and I could get it to move. Upon reading I found out that lil screw was from the back of that latch. So I had to get a screw driver to slide the spring loaded latch down to get it to open. Luckly I was also able to find that baby washer between my seat and door. (I don't know how but by the grace of god it was there) So anyway once the latch was popped open I saw the back of it and saw where to screw it in. I tightened that one and the other one, and both screws on the other latch. So situations like this is what i'm refering too. I heard those screws tend to get loose. Any other lil things that happens to anyone a lot or I should keep an eye on?

duno ur previous car history but keep an eye on oil level even though the f22 in the usdm ap2's dont eat as much as the f20 in the ap1 they still consume some oil.
run proper tires and alignment. and take the time to learn to drive this car.

^ Agreed. Also, retorque the rear axle nuts if you're not sure if it's already been done properly.

LEARN TO DRIVE THE CAR. When I got mine I had it sideways pointed into a ditch on the second day. Luckily my time spent with Gran Turismo paid off. Not everyone is so lucky.
Don't hit the gas during a corner. Sign up for an autocross IMMEDIATELY.

You can hit the gas in a corner, you just gotta be smooth (not abrupt like zero throttle to WOT) and can't be carrying too much speed going into the corner. More importantly, don't do anything to upset the car's balance in a corner, like hammering on the brakes or even suddenly lifting off the throttle and jerking the steering wheel. That's a good tip about attending an autocross event. One of the things I learned from autocross was not to carry too much speed going into a turn, then accelerate out of the turn. Slow in, fast out.

yes, the worst thing you can do in a corner is abruptly lift off he throttle...you can induce lift snap oversteer
