Default Good springs.

Hello ht. Just curious I had purchased godspeed coil-overs a few weeks ago, and Id like to change out the springs with some a little stiffer. Any recommendations?

Godspeed coilovers? WTF? I guess you can call up swift or skunk2 or Eibach or whoever for springs. It's MUCH more common to see a company make a good spring than a good damper.

It won't matter which company you go with for springs as long as they're a good name brand company. The biggest concern with springs is sag, consistency of spring rates, and quality of the coating. Any big spring company can provide a good spring.

Your godspeed dampers are going to be garbage in a few weeks, however. I'd rather just use stock shocks and buy good lowering springs rather than buy GodSpeed coilovers.

Swift is good. I like my Spoon springs as well. They are holding up quite well.

Ahh Another one? Just cause its a need name gives you no reason to hate on them. You and i both know if mugen or spoon just came out we would say " wtf is spoon"? Thats kind of ignorant for you to say. I appreciate your advice but godspeed is The same exact thing as megan And if you knew you Would look into one the fastest Evo x's who is sponsored by godspeed.

u compare them to megan but megan is not anything great or even mediocre. maybe godspeed is a great damper but like any new company these dampers r going to have to stand the test of time and perform b4 people trust them. i suggest u get a couple k stiffer springs and c what happens.

lol godspeed is like MEGAN? wow. Good comparison company. Trust me brozef. There's a difference in quality dampers. 1 dimensional coilovers are easy to make. A fast evo does not say that they have good retail coilovers.

D2, Megan, Godspeed, etc. all have fast cars in their stable. Doesn't mean I'd ever buy a set of their coilovers...or recommend them to anyone I didn't dislike.

Megan is a re-branded name x company so are most others, spoon, mugen and buddy club all buy from the same company for many items.

The point however is this - they are marketed as aggressive rates which they are but the springs arent eibach quality so they sag, or your car is too low and it bounces ect.

If you want coil springs for them eibach is the place to call they can help you find the right ones.

If it's a matter of starting over KW - Billstein - Koni - Progress all would be better choices. I wouldnt buy spoon or mugen as there rates are too high for a street car.

Don't lump D2 in there, like they showed up last week. I've autocrossed with their coilovers for years and have nothing but good things to say. And no i've never had one explode or leak. Plus the North American Retailer is in North Carolina and readily willing to help with any issues.

I can agree to a certain point.

The springs are crappy on godspeed coilovers, I'm sure. More importantly, the dampers are garbage. Have you ever seen damper dynos for some of these companies? Probably not...because it would be embarassing.

People who haven't ever ridden on anything nice would think that megans, d2s, godspeeds, or kung fu racing...or whatever crappy coilovers are "great". They just don't know any better.

If you've only eaten dog food your whole life, for example...then you "know" in your head that there's no difference between kibbles n bits and steak. When people are like "are you eating dry dog food? why? You could have just saved up for like 5 more mins and got yourself a cheeseburger or something atleast....", you can fire back with awesome stuff like "there's no difference between this and people food!! you wouldn't hate on it if your coat was as shiny as mine!"

This is just like the people who insist that there's no difference between rotas and volks (without ever having owning anything except rotas) or that there's no difference between cocoa krispies and the stuff that comes in a big plastic bag (false!), or that there's no difference between anything and anything else. Everything is apparently the same.

Maybe ignorance is bliss. I wish I could get excited over $400 coilovers.

Again...anyone can build a 1 dimensional coilover. I've ridden on several cars with D2s. I've hated all of them.

refer to my dog food example.

and i've driven cars with KW V3s and thought they were ****. not worth half of what was paid. I was not impressed with Bilstein either. I can make ridiculous analogies too, but its all personal preference and talking down to him about his coilover choice really isnt going to make him go out and try some dog food.

lol I hope not. Hey if he's happy and you're happy, then we're all happy, I guess. I love my KWs. Don't say something spiteful just to say it and hurt my feelings, though. You know you liked the KWs you rode on.

Lol lol. It's all good. Maybe the person had the car too low? Or shitty settings? Or was it your jealousy weighing down the car and making it sluggish?

For sure no doubt. But you do know what I am saying right? Its all about how they allow your car to function And yeah I never said Megans were excellent There just something I can compare mine to that are decent and affordable. Trust me though if I had more cash I would have pursched zeal funtion x,kw v2s,or j's racing something actually Japanese and legit. But I had to ball on a budget on this one:/

and springs... find out what springs you have now (in terms of ID, free length, and rate)... go https://honda-tech.com/forums/showth...ere (RR forum), buy them in pairs.

usually be listed as 800.250.0600 (8" free length, 2.5" inner diameter, 600lbs). Problem, as identified above, is that the damper may not be able to control a higher spring rate.

^ true story the damper will take a **** sooner with stiffer springs than what they r valved for. Reason being y stock shocks with aftermarket springs go out after around 10k depending on road conditions and how u drive, they were not designed for the higher spring rate. This is y u allways c those hoopty *** civics bouncing around.

lol I'm spoiled by Koni and GC? I have Koni/GCs on my civic. They cost me a whopping $800something with tax. They're great for what they are. They're just a high quality sleeve style coilover spring mated to a nice damper. You could have been "spoiled" by them too for about $150 more than you paid for your godspeeds.

You're right though....ignorance is like a virus. Apparently, Megan is a respectable coilover company. And apparently, people get spoiled by Koni/GCs because they're SOOOOO high zoot.

If you've actually had nice coilovers (F&F2s aren't really top of the line either), then you'd know the difference. Trust me. You're complaining about people respecting certain name brands? Well there might be a difference why people like certain name brands. Maybe because...they're actually good? It's not about cost either. Something that costs more could be crappier than something that costs less.

I don't think you've ever owned Zeal Functions. Function whats? Which model? What did you think was not so great about them? Be subjective for me to believe you.

Fixed. S2000s are obviously the new civic.
