crazy theft story
Its been a while since ive been on honda-tech, i figured this story was worth the login.
Ive been in virginia for 3 months working while my car is safely pulled up to my mothers front door in miami with 2 cars behind it almost at all times. Not so long ago my roof was cut open and my seats jacked. Theres the background.
Two mornings ago I was woken up abruptly at 8 in the morning by my mothers screaming voice yet again. I almost already knew what she was going to say. I have bride seats and seat rails, stereo equipment, a hard top, almost complete 08 interior 08 bumper and lip. I thought it was all gone, but after talking to her for 5 minutes i found out that the only thing missing was my hardtop and my sub box from the trunk. (my luck it rained on my cloth brides and carpet all night) Police are called, and doing a sweep of my immediate neighborhood, they find my hard top wedged under a bush and behind some trees in a yard down the street. the police take the top and clip it back on as it starts raining again. as confusing as it was, i was glad to have my hardtop back and i was hoping at least for the insurance company to pay for my cleanup and my subwoofers that were taken from the trunk.
I let all this sit in for about a day and i woke up yesterday morning super confused and thinking about it. it was infinitly frustrating because im a thousand miles away, so to ease my mind, i called one of my best friends whos a tuner buddy of mine to go give it a thorough look thru.
he calls me back and the first thing he says is how vile it smells from all the mildew and water baking in the miami sun after just being rained in. then he tells me that my ECU and my ignition are strait gone.
wierd thieves right??
anyway, i thought that was funny, flame on.
ill post what happens from now on

Sounds like they wanted to take the entire car but didn't have any luck. You goT lucky bro! Insurance should cover new seats, carpet, and fix any other damages.

Are the hard tops that easy to take off? One of the reasons I want an S is because I thought I wouldnt have to worry about it. Is this becoming more common? Or is it just in high theft areas, I.e Cali, and apperantly Miami?
Sorry to hear about the bullshit though man.

Dude that sucks .. good luck with it! Seems like insurance should cover the damage caused. Remeber it could have been worse - look what happened to Papa5murf's car - that was bad! It they took your top they could have taken your whole interior with it
