5k is a good price if the body is straight sans the motor.
top will not be 800 after installation and the seats are much more than that.

my math was wrong i will have 8000 in it, and about 100+ hours LOL. doing the engine myself, as well as the top.
thanks

top install is about 10 hr of works, i rather swap a motor on a civic or turbo charge an accord than doing another top install. people charge around 500-700 for install alone.
no way two black front seats is 300,unless they are stolen.

go for it dude u will like ur car alot more cause u know u did all the **** urself and it will be worth it plus its comin out to about 8k. Dont worry about the tranny too much they normaly dont go bad exept the 2nd gera synco but her hitting 2nd from 6th would have been a problem if the 2nd gear syncro was bad. So get that **** fix it join the club.

the trans should be a problem.. but check the diff. if youre going for a new motor, might as well opt for the f22 & an ap2 rear... member reebs on here has both forsale iirc

good luck, sounds like a sweet project. you may be able to sell it for more also.. once its all set up, take it up to the central coast so I can see it!

All I gotta say is if you don't want it then hook me up. Its a great deal. Plus you'll get to tinker with your brand new S2000. You'll end up with lots of pride knowing that you swapped in the motor and did all the work yourself.

K since the top is no good, might as well go with a newer 02+ top to get the glass rear window.
The motor could have spun a bearing, but most likely they drop valves when over revved. Bottom end might still be good, so you may be able to sell that and get some $$ back. I would still swap out the whole long block and then sell whatever you can off the old motor.
Seats are deff. stolen if they are $300.

just as everyone is skeptical, i too am wondering about those seats and i'm a newb! i'f you're going to take the tranny out and put a clutch in it, you might as well put something a lil more heavy duty than stock in there like an upgraded comp or ACT disc. i would just be wary because projects are always more trouble and money than they first appear to be. 5k is a bangin' price though.

as far as the seats, just get some recaro pole positions or some other set of aftermarket seats... theyll cost about the same as a 'legit' pair of seats. either that, or just dont bring up the topic about buying used s2000 seats, just do it and keep it on the hushhush

Re: (iam7head)
more money to spend... but dont forget to do the clutch when its apart. they are a total PITA to do later on, so get it done now and be good to go for a long time.
