Brake pads....
Can I get some suggestions on the brand and model of brake pads that would be the best for street use with ocasional track days....

Dual duty pads suck ***.
However, if you want a track pad that's not too annoying to use on the street, try EBC yellows.
They're a track compound pad for sure. I've used them on lots of track days in my car. But they don't squeak/squeal like other race pads do. They have a high friction coefficient (.6) and they work over a huge range of temps. So you can use them when they're cold...but they get more effective as they warm up.
They do dust a lot though.
They're around $250 for a set.

Best advice, a set for street & a set for the track.
It takes very little time to swap pads anyway...and is a good idea to do a once over on your braking system before you hit the track.
Checking lugs/lines/rotors/etc.

The HPS seems to dust a lot without much of an effect. Some people love them...but I track my car.
If you don't track your car, the OEM pads are more than enough. Unless you're driving like a COMPLETE tool on the street.
I've done 146mph to 0mph stops on a closed road. No fade with stock brakes. So you'd have to be especially agressive at the stop light grand prix to overwork the stock brakes on the street. I've also been to road america on stock brakes the first week I bought the car. The stock brakes worked great until about a half hour into it....I had to stop from 130mph to 50 or so MPH and the brakes had had enough. But to be fair, for the first half hour, I was learning the course and running into lots of traffic and Road America isn't really THAT hard on brakes.
I don't drive the car like a jackass on the street. So I use stock pads on the street.
I drive the car as hard as possible when I go to the track. So I use track pads for that.
No need to buy some in-between pad that's just going to dust more.

i have tracked axis ultimates and they are worthless. they should be sold as strictly a street pad. ive tracked hawk hp+ and they were decent but just dont have a hard innitial bite. i recomend carbotech xp10 pads for track use and some ap2 oem pads for the street. as for the hawk hps and ceramic pads. i dont recomend either. ap1 pads are ceramic and ap2 are semi metalic if im not mistaken and those hawk pads dont work any better than oem.

Hawk HPS on the street. Despite them being slightly noisy and dusty, I prefer the initial bite of these pads over the OEM AP1 pads, if only for just everyday driving. For track days, I use the old Carbotech Panther Plus, now AX6, while using high-perf street tires.

xp10 and hankook rs2. not baller enought for r compounds yet. it doesnt matter what pad or tire u use id always want more brake than the tires can handle. thats when modulation comes into play.

and no i just use xp10 on front. haha i cant even remember whats on the rear i think hawk hp+. but i have used them on the rear and did fine, its just alot of extra money for no better braking results.

The reason I'm going for XP10s is because I got my EBC yellows to fade at Autobahn CC full course. 3.57 miles.
That track is HARD on your brakes. I think I used like 30-40% of my pad in 1 day.

I've used the OEM pads for street, and track days. Never had a problem. They do wear out pretty fast on trackdays, but Honda designed them to be abused.

I read somewhere that it was fine to use them with sticky street tires. The car has ABS anyway..so lock up is really not an issue. I've heard they transition pretty smooth from threshold to lock up anyway.
You must not be going very fast on track days. Maybe you're running very small circuits. My friend said he was fine with stock pads on the 1.5 mi course that we have around here. But even then..they started going out towards the end.
Also, if you brake earlier and lighter, your pads may fade less. I'm still flooring it when most people's brake lights come on. I brake at the last possible moment. Gotta catch up to Z06es somehow lol.

i use axxis ultimate for street and autocross
i use Carbotech (xp10 front, xp8 rear) for track with R-comp tires.
i switch rotors when i switch to track pads. check all brake components and flush the brake fluid. the last thing you want is a brake failure while going 100+ mph.
