Year determination on swapped parts
I have a 2000 Civic with an H22a swap
The head is a 97, I know how to find that one.
but how do you determine the year of the block and trans?
I am wondering this because my speedo and odometer aren't work, or have ever worked for as long as Ive had it, and I'm wanting to fix it.
I'm not wanting to have to make several trips to the parts store to get different parts for different years.
Plus this will help for future reference.
Also, does this sound correct?
when i got the car i did a tune up ("coil" to plugs) and I had to buy a distributor cap for a 90something civic.... whats up with this?
Thanks guys

Re: Year determination on swapped parts
The speedometer and odometer not working is either your VSS is needing to be replaced or your that gauge is broken. And for the distributor question your either running an internal coil or external coil distributor on your setup, but my guess is an internal one. There is a model stamp on your distributor should be on the housing of it right where one of the 3 bolts that holds it onto the head. It will be engraved into the housing you cannot miss it, if you look hard enough.
