Default what is this part?

hey, I was wondering what the red circled part was. I have seen some people with it, and others without. Looks like some kind of wire guide to me. I think I'm going to remove it today because it bothers me

I believe its a hook so if you ever need to pull your motor. Just a guess as it seems it has no other purpose.

That's a lift point for removing the engine.

I'd just leave it there. Is it in the way? Or did it just bother you b.c you didn't know what it was?

yep you're not gonna do it without a cheater bar

give it a shot of some PB blaster around where the base of the bolt meets the surface of the lift hook, tap it with a hammer (lightly) so it can penetrate into whatever is fusing the two together, let it sit for a little while (15-20 min) and CRANK on it.

keep track of it (glove box/console) 'cause you'll probably want it if you ever take the motor out...

I didn't see anything else connected to that bolt other than that peice. I could be wrong but IIRC theres nothing else connected to it on my JDM H22A.

All you need is a decent sized wrench and some WD-40.. then apply some strength. Just remember the longer the handle, the more leverage, and the more strength you can apply.

I've taken a 10 year old and 12 year old ex. manifold off with that method.

Getting that bolt to budge is like making love to a beautiful woman.. at first she may not be down to do what you want her to do, but she'll start to give when you show her your gigantic breaker bar
