Are Tanabe any good? I was thinking of getting front/rear sways and front/rear struts bars.

Will there be a difference in handling between the stock sways vs the aftermarket ones? or is it just a waste of money?

There's a TON of information about these things on the internet already, but pretty much strut bars are about useless and swaybars are used to control body roll. Preludes seem to like a big rear bar with stock (or even none at all) front bar.

Any strut bar that is multiple peices bolted together is even more useless. How strong can one bolt and nut be? Nuespeed makes a solid front strut bar if you really want to get one

I wouldn't spend money on strut bars unless you've already dropped a good bit into a nice shock/spring setup and sway bars, and still need more rigidity.

You won't regret going with a Neuspeed Upper Front Strut Bar. Definately one, if not the best on the market for our cars. As far as sway bars, ST's rear lower sway is apparently very good. I wouldn't bother with the front lower sway, and the rear upper is also pretty useless IMO.

not sure if i invested enough into shocks and springs but i got tokico luminas + ground control coil overs.

im reading from a lot of sources and most say struts dont really make a difference but you are offering me to go with struts instead of sways. are you serious or just foolin around?

The front upper strut bar undoubtedly makes a difference, same with the rear lower sway. The rest is mostly for eye candy.

i've got a tanabe front strut bar and definately noticed a diference. the front is a lot more stable than the back. I do have a skunk 2 lower tie bar which seemed to help a little bit. I'm gonna be in the maket for a rear strut brace before too long (am planning on sticking with tanabe) to try to remove more of the rear roll. The rest of the suspension is stock- for now. When i say i noticed a difference, its not a psycological thing. I flog the car on several winding backroads regularly so i had a good bit of before and after experience (4 months of stock flogging then 2 months of strut-bar-equiped flogging)

When I changed from Koni 3011s to Koni 2812 shocks, I had to remove my front Neuspeed "strut" bar. I noticed no difference at all. This is with much stiffer spring and damping rates than I'd expect any of you to run on a street car. I'd think the difference would be more obvious on a very stiff suspension, but I didn't notice anything to be honest.

Anyone up for an A-B-A comparison? I'd be happy to do the work at my place if someone wants to do a blind comparison. I'd like to see if someone could really tell the difference of bar or no bar, with all else equal.

Definately not possible! I've gotta be getting on it pretty good in order to tell the difference. One of my fav turns is a long high-speed 0-camber sweeper and there's a difference. Another complex is a super agressive left-right transition and the difference makes itself noticeable here as well.

I think the difference would be ALOT more noticeable on a bone stock suspension with 150k mi vs. a well preped track car. A super soggy chasis versus an already ridiculously stiff chasis.

I'm not calling anybody a liar (i've taken alot of excellent info from 117 in particular ), i'm just stating my opinion and experience.

Ok me and a friend of mine made bb4 sister cars one with a h22a4 and all ebay parts the other with a h22a with all top name brands. Im running ebay strut bars front and rear against his neuspeed front and rear (both with stock springs and struts) and to be honest you can barely even tell the difference. Unless your running a high performance aplication on a track they really arnt going to make a huge difference although a small difference was noticed. No matter who you ask your going to get an oppinion.... even here where you asked a simple question they got into an argument .

here is something to think about. If the debate is showing you can barely feel it at all with them but some claim you can feel it but not really and other claim they can't with it, isn't it safe to say that they are pointless? Pointless on the basis that even if they are doing something it is so minimal that the driver can't even notice the difference?

You can assume the person who bought one wants to feel the difference so they are imagining it sort of like when you first get an intake and exhaust, you can't actually feel it because the gains are so minimal.

Now you might argue that you may not notice it but you still have the gain but you can argue the whole point of suspension upgrades is so that you CAN feel the upgrade.

Just my 2cents

hey i just put some KYB gr2 shocks and tein H-type springs on my lude and the ride is amazing and it handles like its on rails, perfect street setup.

do you think a ST REAR sway bar would help? i hear the rear ones make huge difference, is this true?

I'm on board with this. I think you'd actually feel more of a difference with less of a suspension setup. Strut bar on stock suspension is going have the FEEL while the stiff suspension setup is so hung up on WOW thats what Linear feels like that you wouldn't notice!
When I installed my 1st bar(a DC fstb in 1999) I had stock suspension and it felt to keep a better plane through a turn. When I installed my 2nd bar(Cusco adj) I already had 400# GC's and Konis. I drove the car both with the bar and w/o it(it doesn't clear my new intake/manifold)and theres no difference.

tanabe front & rear sways, tein basic coilovers, neuspeed front upper strut bar, dc sports rear...

happy with it so far but i found out the hard way that u need good set of tires to corner well.

A DC lower tie bar? That is incredibly useless FYI...the stock subframe is plenty more braced in that area than a multi-piece bar anyway. I used to have one too
