Default Trunk won't stay shut

First it wouldn't open, then I pulled the cable with pliers and now I can't get it to latch shut, the latch is very hard to get to, anyone run into this before?

Have a look at this exploded diagram : http://www.hondaautomotivepart...K+LID

It looks like you will have to work some penetrating oil down the cables, keep moving the cables and adding more until you manage to free them. Sounds like the cables are dried up in the outers causing them to stick open or shut.
