OK. The Prelude SiR and the Accord SiR both came with blacktop H22As, not blue. After 1998, the Accord SiR came with an bluetop H23A (VTEC). The Prelude SiR S-Spec came with a redtop H22A, just like the Type S. The Type S transmission is the same as the Type SH transmission, so it came with ATTS, not LSD. The Prelude SiR S-Spec transmission came with LSD. Therefore, the Type S will NOT work just fine with a regular transmission. Modifications would have to be made to eliminate ATTS.
So as you can see, everything you said was completely wrong. Are we good now?

Ok, well I must say you are right on the dot with everything dude. The Type S motor was used in 3 different cars, the 2 preludes you stated, and the accord euro r. Now on Hmotors, they have the Type S motor that comes with the LSD Hydraulic Tranny, that's the one I was talking about. Not the ATTS one lol. I know that would never bolt right up. I must say you know your valve covers as well, like I said I wasn't too sure with the valve cover, but I do remember seeing it with the h23. Thanks for the great info

That is a good result, thanks for sharing! What did the ignition timing end up at? Would you mind sharing your rom? It's probably not easy to tell for sure whether or not it's a Type-S without measuring the cams or pistons. It might be possible to pull a spark plug and measure how deep the piston dome is at TDC and compare to other H22's.

The motor is a black top btw, and i might actually pull the plugs to know for sure, are there any threads with details regarding the measurements??

What have respectable bolt-on H22s made there?(Megan mods don't count)
Tuning is key for sure!
I'd be curious to see how this setup would "trap" at the strip.
Is there maybe mods you don't know about internally?

And btw I know the type s relies partly on its better flowing IM and a few other parts to make its extra power, and I'm using stock usdm parts, I carried everything over from my usdm car.
I'll be getting a header and custom exhaust in a few weeks, not sure if I'll be able to afford a re-tune right away, but I'm excited to see what I'll make.
I won't spend more than 4-500 on a header so i think I'll consider the ESP header or a better used RMF etc. Plus i'll be choking it all out a bit exhaust wise since i dont want a loud car, I was in love with my h22's boosted melodies but NA is not exactly my cup of tea.
