Default sidemarker help

What could cause my sidemarkers to stop working? The fuse didn't blow b/c my inner bumper lights still work. Also, the bulbs are still good. I was wiring some jdm sidemarkers and they worked for a while then all of a sudden they stopped. i don't think its a break in the wire b/c they worked for a while and it would be a pita to trace the wires all the way to the interior fuse box. I was looking at the honda wiring diagram and located near the interior fuse box is some sort of sidemarker control unit. Could i have shorted this out? I know i accidently touched the + and - for the passenger sidemarker but after i did this the driver side continued to work. Then i put on my left blinker and about 5 secs. later, the driver side stopped working.

I'm really frustrated and have no idea what to do. i already respliced the connection b/w the bumper sidemarker and jdm sidemarker. I also tested the lights with a voltage meter and its getting no power. I checked all the fuses and the bulbs. The only thing left to do which i aint gonna do is trace the wires from the bumper to the interior sidemarker flash control unit. The lights are wired in parrallel so how could I short out both at nearly the same time? I doubt both are grounding out or have a break in the wires. Anybody dealt with this problem before, have any suggestions, or knows anything about the sidemaker control unit located near the interior fuse box? Sorry for the long post but just thinking about this makes me sic

Definitely start there, whatever you changed/touched you had better double and triple check; connections included.

you guys both have valid points, hence those were the first things i checked besides the bulbs and fuse. i saw the light stop working and the car was off and stationary so i dont think theres a break in the wire or it's grounding out, especially since they're wired in parrallel. do you guys think that its possible that hooking up the jdm sidemarker to the bumper sidemarker caused the problem since the bumper sidemarker (outer bumper lense) functions as a sidemarker and turn signal when the headlights are on? because the driver sidemarker and driver jdm sidemarker were both on steadily until i turned on the left turn signal and they both flashed for a couple seconds and the jdm sidemarker was just getting dimmer and brighter since its a single filament bulb and then both died. its also very unlikely that i fried the wires. in the honda service manual there's something called the sidemarker control unit or something to that effect (i dont have my manual at the moment). you guys think i may have fried this unit? anybody ever heard of it or dealt with it before?

bump

it may very well be a short but i've noticed that this is the standard and easy reply to anyone having some type of electrical problem. any possibility of it being the side marker light flasher? (i really wish i had my honda service manual so i can get the exact name but its located next to the interior fuse box with the integrated control unit)
