good idea.... i've also got an extra P28 laying around.... would probably just be easier to swap ECU's
what exactly is a ZIFF socket anyhow?

Re: (misterpsycho)
its a socket that goes on top of the socket used to originally chip the ecu. It allows for you to release the eeprom from the socket without having to pry it from the sockets vicious grip.
However, i have had problems with ZIF sockets before so i just run my ostrich all the time.
no chips ftw.

i want an objective opinion. even though i trust what he says, i want to see what they can do on a shitty setup.

i have h22 i just got type s pistons and going to hone the walls and all that good stuff but i don't want to change my valves and springs since they are stock and good. what cam shafts would be the proformance to price value without giving and arm and leg for them

You can run Type S cams or any stage 1 cams but I don't recommend it. The stock valve train is designed to run with the stock cams, Get a valve train upgrade if you mess with the cams and do it right. Don't forget a manual tensioner conversion if you haven't done it already.

Im thinking about getting crower stage 2 cams with springs and retainers. My question is do i need valves as well? Also should i change my tensioner to a manual one with this setup? I replaced my auto tensioner with a new one last year.

Re: (HottNikkels)
tensioner yes.
valves, not necessarily although i would recommend a valve job if you go with valves. OEM is stronger than people think. They are just not as light as aftermarket.

Re: (HottNikkels)
Yes it's fine to run Crower 2s on a stock motor with springs and retainers.
I would look into a form of tuning to maximise the potential of those cams. Also I would look into Brian Crower cams instead of the Crower cams. Brian split off of the main Crower company to pursue the Import Market. I would imagine that he's invested more R&D into his cam profiles than the original Crower company.

Re: The Official H series Camshaft Thread
What cam gears will fit jun cams on a 98 prelude. Juns website says jun cam gears wont work with 98 or later BB6 chassis. Is it because it wont fit the engine (Number of teeth) or wont fit stock camshafts (different keyways)?
