Default New relay switch .. now cars acting up

Ok so I just had my I/H/E put it and the car was running perfect.. the last thing that was bothering me was that the car would not start after being warmed up.. took me 5 minutes to start.. so I researched it, took it into a trustworthy shop and they said it was a bad relay switch which I read is common to have. Now it's out of the shop and now the car seems to idle lower then it had before, and almost starts to sputter a bit when idling. When driving I also now hear the exhaust sputter a bit, and I suppose it could be my imagination or that I've got used to the power but it seems like it hesitates a bit now when I punch it.. and most noticable is when I am coming to a stop in a higher gear..and wait to downshift.. before the exhaust would just get low then I'd downshift.. now when I start to slow the car it does a chug chug and I feel like I have to immediatly put it into a lower gear and don't get to hear my deep exhaust ... so would a new main relay switch have any effect on any of the things I've mentioned or is it just a coincidence that this is happening right after I got the relay fixed. Any help is GREATLY appreciated and thanks fer reading.
