recently my 97lude stopped working all a sudden. it was driving normally , an for some reason when i turned it off for less than 2minutes , i tried staring it agin an it wont start, i notice that there was gas going through so i know its not that, an theres perfect airflow, so im thinking it might be the ignitor chip or the igniton coil or possible the whole distributor,.... do you think there is something else i should try to check out before i waste money on buying new parts for those possible causes???

How did you notice there was gas 'going through'?

Does it crank and try to start or does it just not do anything when you turn the key? How did it stop working?..like the engine shut off and you has power or you just lost ALL power?

well all a sudden when i try to start it up again it just didnt start. it cranks, but it just didnt wanna fry up, so i took it to some azn shop by my place an the started testing everything but it still didnt work. so they didnt know wats wrong wit it so i took my car back ,an now its just sittin there. but i had ask them if it might be the electrical fuel pump? cuz they said that the motor an everthing was good, its just there isnt spark going in, an when i ask him if it was the fuel pump? he said no, that there was gas going through, so thats why im thinking its something electrical, but also theres still lots of power still, there no problem wit the radio, lights, etc....so now do u have a lil idea of wats wrong with it?? if u do it would help alot. thanks

try pulling out your main relay because it is the fuel pump relay and see if its bad (leave it hooked up and turn the ignition on and see if it clicks). thats where i would start. you could also pull all your plug wires and make sure theres no water in any of them maybe thats why theres no spark. No promises those are just some guesses.

Ok, then yes it probably something like the ignitor in the distributor or a main relay. Also check out your ignition system (plugs, wires, cap, rotor, etc) and make sure there's no problem there. It's going to be something simple I'm sure...

k so i asked the guy that was working on it before an he said he had try replacing ditrbutor an tried new coils an ignitor chip. an also when i was checking it out wit my friends we had tried the flathead technique, we stuck it in to one of the spark plug wires an tried to start it, an still it didnt spark , so we tried all 5 an still no spark, i unno if that was any help but any other ideas? ima check the relay an the rotors tommorw.thanks for all the help as well. its helping me out alot, cuz i really dont have the money to take it to the shop to fix.

well whem we were checking my car out my friend heard the gas , so i dont think its the gas , the thing is , we had put a flathead into the spark plug wires to see if the was spark when we cranked it and there wasnt any, none of the 5 spark plug wired, an also i had it at the shop before to see if it could be fix an they had tried replacing the ignition coil,ignitor chip , and pretty much he tried replacing the whole distributor. an still it didnt work so im sure its elecetrical.u have any ideas? also thanks for the help also its a helper alot. thanks

did you try testing the main relay? not tryin to beat a dead horse here but mine is being a serious BI@TCTH and i would hate for that stupid little thing to be your problem.

yea no. i havent tested it yet but ima check it out tommorrow and ill let chu kno if its still good.
