i used a white-out pen to make the marks where i wanted the opening to be. then i took a dremel with a cutting disc to take out a big majority of it, and a grinder to make the final touches and clean it all up.

thats pretty slick... hella safer than just cuttin off the end and exposing the t-belt ive heard of people losing fingers from that. guess i would need some adj. cam gears though to actually be useful.

Oh... Ok Daboi, I didn't notice.. haha stupid me... I wasn't paying attention..

Zexified, Um, I'm not sure exactly, if you search the net you might could find something, otherwise it's just how much you want to cut off I guess.

i'm sure if you bust out a tape measure and take a few simple measurements you'll figure it out..

You could take a couple measurements, or i would prolly just make a template from the lower cover. Since its got the half circle where the bottom half of the pullies are, and just trace it on a piece of paper then use a utility knife and score the outline on the valve cover and then youll know exactly where to cut.

Not really recommended for daily use, anything that gets in there can create a major headache.

That's what the carbon shield is for, removes in less then 1 minute for tuning purposes. Once done, cover up the gears with the nice shield and no more debri or problems with stuff going in...

Ouch, that do it yourself tutorial is ugly. I would rather pay $100.00 to get it cut professional and make it look nice the first time. Just my .02 cents.
