Default might be picking up a 91 lude. need info.

i might be picking up a 1991 prelude automatic. my friend has one also but his motor blew so he threw in a B20. my question is in a couple months if i do get it, ill swap in a B20 with B16 head (CRV-tec) and wanted to know weather or not to keep the stock B20 tranny with the swap or find a auto GSR tranny? could this be possible? if not what would be a nice combination for a Daily Driver with a couple pulls here and there. TIA-

EDIT: wheres a pick thread for the 88-91 preludes (3rd gen?!)

hrmm, the automatic 3rd gen is a slug man
but, if you are paying little for it, lets say something like 500-800 and its in good shape them go for it. as for the crvtec thing.... that is or the b20z motor that is found in the crv. the b20 (and actually its a b21a1) that is found in the 3rd generation prelude is either the b20a5 usdm, b20a jdm, or b21a1 usdm with frm sleeves.... and you cannot do a crvtec headswap on these series of honda motors.
in fact the b20a series of motors are sortof the bastard children of honda motors. there isnt **** out there for aftermarket support in the way of engine modifications.
although there has been 5 people in the country that have done a true b16 or b18 headswap onto the b20a series motor... it has also cost them many many thousands of dollars... not really worth it at all. but hey, its your money!!
of you do buy this car (is it white and owned by a girl by chance?) your best bang for the buck will always be nitrous. then of course, piecing together a turbo kit. lastly if you really want to do somthing neat, you can do a h22 swap into that car. place racing makes a shitty motormount for the 3rd gen.
good luck-
