Default Loud Squeek during cold starts

Just reccently the car started making this loud squeek during cold starts. Sounds frictional, maybe the alternator pulley? No a/c or p/s. I have the Euro R crank pulley and the alternator is relocated to the bottom (innovative mounts) New goodyear? gator belt and an Odessey PC680 battery. lmk if I left any usefull info out.

i would say somewhat normal, does it go away when the vehicle is at normal operating temps?

Yes. It's just at the initial cold start. It never made that noise before so I'm kind of curious of whats going on, maybe something I can lube/replace?

Starter rebuild possibly? Which other starter works on the H22? I recall there being a smaller one (few lbs lighter) but I forgot which car it comes out of.

check the belt and make sure there is enough tension on it. if not tighten it. may need a new belt also. could just be from moisture build up on the belt after sitting for awhile.

ya jas9848 is right on.....i blew my motor in my prelude and im doing a swap this weekend when i go to start it up i got a knock but it runs.....it has that nasty squeal to......its most likely from moisture try and tightne it and see if it makes it still...if its still doin that then change the belt and youll be golden

squeak usually means loose belt, but sometimes the belt can be too TIGHT.

I'll throw a word of caution out on Gator belts since I had one shred on me after about 30k... Bought it because I thought they were supposed to be the best, but after it went, I decided to go back to OEM. Food for thought.

you should have about 1" of deflection from the belt. a way to check this is to take a straight edge and put it parallel to the belt. then put a ruler perpendicular to the belt and push down on the belt untill you reach the max. deflection.

thanks chiltons manual
