Lean Racing short throw shifter 5th gen
Hi guys-
I have a 2001 prelude base with dc sports "short shift" adapter. It is kind of a joke in my opinion. Car had it on when I bought it. A company called lean racing makes a true short throw shifter. It looks like the stock unit but with a shortened shaft and 30-40% throw reduction. Has anyone had experience with this product? I know there are quite a few for 4th gen but need to be modified. I've done a search on the Lean shifter and came up dry anyone care to shed some light?

I have the Lean Racing short shifter and find that it does reduce the throw quite a bit, had no problems with it at all. If you use the top setting which gives the shorter shift then you'll need to trim some of the plastic from your centre console where it sits above the linkage on the arm to stop it rubbing.
It doesn't do anything much different than the DC adaptor but is a lot less bulky and there is less chance of it working loose because there are less screws to tighten.

PSPEC Tuning also makes a true short shifter.

I personally have the Lean SS and I like it a lot. I haven't try the PSPEC one yet so I can't tell you which is better. One thing I know though, the Lean is a lot easier to install than the PSPEC one. The 2 shifter is different though. The Lean is a modified stock unit and the PSPEC is a fully custom piece. The only problem would be if Lean still makes his shifter or not. Last I recall, he has stop production indefinitely, but check with him first.

Thanks for the advertisement, but they're talking for 5gen, I make them for 4gens.
P.S. - You should be at the meet!
