User 'saikou' used a non-OEM brand of manual tensioner when I helped him do his timing belt and after the engine ran for a bit the tensioner froze and burnt itself and the belt up. We swapped it over to a Honda tensioner and everything was great.

Some may be good, some may be bad, but you do take a chance with non-OEM stuff.

if you're interested in a manual tensioner kit then you might want to check out this site.
http://www.importrp.com/produc...age=1

it comes with a koyo tensioner pulley and another non-oem balance shaft pulley. the rest of the parts are oem.

i havent had any problems with it as of yet

P.S. sorry i cant see whats on ebay sites because i have some virus on my computer

Koyo is an oem brand, even though it dosent come from honda in the little red bag dosent mean ****.Honda motors co. does not manufacture hardly any of their own parts and components, they just buy from a reputable japanese company like koyo, nissin, exedy etc that makes the product for them.

Koyo is as good as it gets for honda tensioners as far as Im concernd, just ask a mechanic about any parts the you have questions about, they are generally nice enough to steer you in the right direction.Call a smaller honda shop in the area if there is one, they tend to shop around for better deals on parts for their customers instead of just ordering from the local dealership, because they can usually get the same exact brand part from somewhere else for a fraction of the dealer cost.

Buy it from http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com it's about $68 versus $57 on ebay. Trust me, $11 is not worth reliability.
