You should get over 300. closer to 375. But that is if you are using all 15.9 gallons that your tank has to offer.

isnt the reserve like 3.5 gallons? i noticed cause of the rapid weather change that i was getting bad gas mileage cause my tire's pressure was out of whack!

thanks guys... ill check my tire pressure, the weather has been really weird here lately... mild one day and really cold the next... tires could be the culprit.

You need to take note of how many gallons you're using per tank, then calculate your mpg. Asking how many miles you should get per "tank" is pointless without knowing your mpg. My needle starts hitting the 'E' line when I've only used about 13 gallons, but then again with an analog gauge it's hard to tell. I miss my 4th gen, with the digital gas guage there was no guessing as to how much gas I had left.

Just cruising to work I would average 27mpg, beating on it occasionally usually dropped me to about 23 / 24.
Change your fuel filter if you haven't already. It at least wont hurt it (if you do it correctly that is).

Make sure youre not dividing by the size of the actual tank, because that's not going to give you very accurate results. Divide by the gallons it takes you to fill up. In the 260 range you'll be getting 21/22ish.

Re: (justint)
I get about 260-280 roughly with my 84', depending on my driving habits. I have a 14 gallon tank, so roughly around 20mpg.
Did I mention I have 185k on my motor? So you should be getting better milage than that.

miles per tank can be pretty inaccurate. Use your trip to tell how many miles you made on X gallons. 5th gen should be ~25 city 29 hwy depending on conditions and your driving style.

98 Prelude stock auto 130k I get 25-27 consistently. I hit VTEC quite often too. That is highway of course. I get about 20-24 in the city.

Re: (switched_in_your_eye)
im averaging about 26 MPG all highway. that really sucks IMO. time to change my entire exhaust setup and tune without closed loop.

Easy MPG calculation:
*See how many moles untill u hit E
*Fill up, and divide the number of miles but the AMOUNT of gas FILLED
And there ya go.
Im currently @ about 27 mixed ~ 30% highway/ 70% city.

i can get about 340 mi to a tank. When I fill up I usually pay for 13-14 gallons which makes my car avg about 23-24 on city/highway.
And this driving 60mph on the freeway and shifting at 3K on the streets.

Yeah, especially with the 5gen trans. If this car had a 6th gear that would be awesome. But with driving like a geriatric I just managed to get 29mpg combined on my last tank.
