yo - Eucalyptus lude, thanks for the writeup. Writeups like these were so helpful when swapping an h22a into my 5th gen. Even though it is a much easier swap than yours, the information found on this site made things much easier. Thanks Man.

You missed the bandwagon.....a few months earlier and you couldve had a spot in the back of Honda Tuning in GRASSROOTS.
Theres an F20B 4th gen in the Dec 07 issue.
They closed with the comment: GOT TORQUE? I DON'T! j/k
Good luck with everything.....

Re: (::NirVTEC::)
The engine drives very well and is actually suprisingly fast for 1/2 throttle running pig rich and with no timing adjustments! The other thing i noticed is the response is scary! a small tap to downshift results in the F revving to 5k like im ready to do a 3 gear heel toe downshift! this thing is gonna be fun!

Re: (Eucalyptus lude)
ok guys, i worked on her for another 8 hours! i took some pics but havent had time to write up the dizzy wiring.
-I installed the vac gauge, and driving around its clear that i need to lean the tune at idle and at high load throttle positons.
-Both driveshaft boots ripped open causing grease to go everywhere so i have to reboot them in 2 weeks!
-I will also be redoing the entire brake system since the car has sat for one year and there sticking to much for comfort!
-I started stripping out the interior so car is getting lighter and lighter!
-I wire tucked the main engine harness to fit the password JDM whale *****.
-I relocated the battery to the rear as well.
Ill update you guys later on!

Re: (::NirVTEC::)
Yes sir, not a problem! Im going to contact PAsswordJDM about my intake because im am highly unsatisfied with the quality. I will need to resolve this issue before i dyno it. The weave is ok, but the joints are highly sloppy and eratic. some spots dont even have carbon just resin... Definatly would not recommend it as of now..

Re: (Eucalyptus lude)
good work man, i love build ups like this.
Would these problems arise if the car was OBD1? Say i wanted to put one in my 4th gen and slap some ITB's on etc, would you recommend it?

Re: (skinnyboy)
If you needed it to be obd1, it would be easier in terms of not dealing with the tdc and ck signal! However you would need to convert the iinjectors over to obd1, and prob use a obd1 harness! overall a pain in the *** but definatly doable! ill be ordering my ITB's in the next couple months! So this thread will deifnatly be updated!

Awesome! I've been weighing up what motors to slap in my ride for a bit now, the F20B has always been in my top 3. Keep us informed of how it goes son!

Re: (mgags7)
thanks for your concern mgags7 however like ive stated numerous times, this thread is to share my F20b experience and information with the rest of the community! Not to argue with you about whos d*$% is bigger. I'd appreciate constructive criticism and/or advice in my thread. If you dont have any of that to share then please dont post here anymore. You are the reason Honda-tech has a bad reputation.. Thank you

Re: Installing F20B DOHC in 98 prelude!! HELP
I just stumbled across this thread and realized how old it is!
Update 2015!
I have been autocrossing and Road racing my prelude with the F20B over the last 5 years! I get out typically 5-9 times a year between auto-x and track. Nothing serious or very competative but I have put many, many many track days on the car. I have been through a few brake setups and have left the engine mostly stock (changed the exhaust a few times and retuned).
This year I plan on installing TWM ITBs. I hope to update this thread with the new era of my beloved prelude.

Update: 2016. Uncovered the lude for the first time in 8 months. Runs with a slight stutter but still runs well!

Re: Installing F20B DOHC in 98 prelude!! HELP
Hey man how is the car running? I was wondering if you ever got to make that other thread with all the information and pictures to update? I recently purchased a fifth gen that was auto swapped to an f20b manual but they didn’t complete the work. I’m struggling to get the wiring harness to work since its still the automatic harness. Please Update 🥺
