how to tell if a intermediate shaft is bad?
Well for awhile I have been have very bad shaking in my steering wheel after 40 mph. I did wheel bearings, axles, change and balance tires, check lug nuts. I am now leaning toward a bent rim. The shaking starts at 40 but feels ok around 50 but after 60 it feels like a wheel is gonna pop off lol...I am wondering if a intermediate shaft could be failing..

Well I only had 3 wheel studs for awile before I fixed it and I believe that my rotors are uneven which causes that shaking when I brake but it shakes without braking so I can't see how the brakes could be the main problem.

Im having the same problem in my GSR swapped EG i have replaced all of those things on my car and its still doing it. Im not 100% sure but im thinking maybe the bearing where the half shaft and the CV axle is screwed because there is some play in that connection when i move it around... Let me know if you get it fixed.. maybe the same thing is wrong with my car..

take it off and check it. i had that happen and the half shaft had a lot of play in it when i took it off. i could move it up and down. changed it and shaking went away. just take it off and check it.

i have seen one bad intermediate shaft in the past 8 years and 3 of those years were working in a honda only salvage yard, and 1 of them was in a honda only repair shop.
its not impossible that it is is bad but its unlikely.
basically its just a shaft, a bearing and a bearing carrier mounted to the block. so the bearing should not have up down slop basically.
