Our stock ones can't be bored more than 64mm. Anything larger than that you don't have a wall anymore. If you want something more than 64mm then get a S2k TB or a ITR TB. Those can be bored to around 69mm.

Yes, both the ITR and the S2k throttle bodies both match up with the stock intake manifold. You'll have to port match the opening, but they fit great. You also retain the EVAP valve with the ITR (the s2k one doesn't have it as it's located elsewhere on the manifold) throttle body which you generally don't get from aftermarket throttle bodies.

Don't forget the S2K/ITR TB has no Fast idle control valve since it is electronically controlled. As well, the H22 TB can be bored out to a maximum 66mm (stock is 64mm). The S2K is 70mm (stock 66mm).

So how can they work in H22? I predict rpms bounce horribly then...

Many of us already have the fast idle valve already blocked in a coolant bypass manuver on our stock throttle bodies. Even when I had the S2k throttle body (69mm->64mm taper bore) I had a rock solid idle of ~800 rpm. Same deal with the fast idle valve blocked on my H22 TB.

oh **** who put the roof in the pudding! Now it's ruined! ROFl I don't know why but that cracked me up! Oh man, the roof is in the pudding.

Anyway, I want to know if the 70 is really for the turbo guys, or if there could be a rather extreme NA build-up that'd make good use of it.

Throttle body size means much less when you're going FI. It would be one of the absolute last things I'd do if I were tuboed as the air is being forced in already.

So how technically is that done? As I understand the intake part of TB is bored to 6x mm and polished. Is the butterfly changed anyhow then? If not, how can any gains be achieved as the butterfly diameter is a bottleneck in this situation?
Could anyone explain, please?

The butterfly plate would need to be changed in the process. Usually, the place that bores out the TB, supplies and replaces the plate.
