How many 5th Gen owners have PF Mirrors?
i was just kinda curious as to how many 5th gen owners have power folding mirrors?I just got a pair and the button to make them fold is a little wierd to get used to.It will make me push it in twice to get them to fold, but if i push it in too quick only 1 will fold.I would have thought it would be just 1 push in to fold then 1 push in to unfold.Anyone else have this problem or is it normal?

Re: How many 5th Gen owners have PF Mirrors? (PreludePhill)
I have them installed on my 4thGen, but it's all the same besides the actual mirrors. Mine also takes two pushes to fold in.
But I think there's a reason for this..
Start paying attention to how they work.. This is how mine work:
I park in my garage where I have garbage cans on the drivers side of my car and a roommates car on the passenger side. So I Fold in my mirrors so I don't hit the cans can give my roommate a little more room as there's crap on the passenger side of his car so we are close together.
So, when I leave, my un-fold my mirrors when I leave, one push, they un-fold. Now iIf I push it again, they'll fold back in. But if I drive to my destination and turn my car off, then come back home and try pushing the button, it'll take two pushes for them to fold.
So basically, they're supposed to work like this and I think this is how they really work on a JDM Prelude, but I could be wrong: Every time the car is turned off they should fold in and every time the car is turned on, they should un-fold.
Why I think this, when the mirrors are un-folded when the car was off and I turn the car on and I push the button to fold them in and the first time they just make noise, but don't move, it's because they're really trying to un-fold because that's what they should be doing when the car was turned on and the second time they actually fold-in because that's what the should be doing then.
If you don't understand, I'm sorry, it's kinda hard to explain, but if this sounds like what you're experiencing then it's probably normal. Unless you hook them up to fold and unfold every time the car is turn on and off.
I was going to hook them up to my alarm or hook them up to fold in/out when car turned off/on, but also one would sometimes only fold in and not both. But I think that's because my set wasn't/isn't in great condition. It doesn't happen very often, but every once in awhile it will..
I don't recommend pushing them manually in, to me it doesn't seem like a good idea and it makes a really bad sound if you do.. And I've walked out to my car a few times in parking lots where I didn't fold them in and someone has push one of them in.. It really pisses my off since it never happened when I had the normal mirrors that were supposed to work like that.
Heh, this is kind of long.. Sorry
If anyone else is experiencing this or something like it, let us know.. Or if anyone doesn't experience this and what did you do to fix it or how does yours work if you never experienced this.

the mirrors on my TypeS both fold in and out at one push of the button no matter when theyre pressed
over in the uk, we have tons of JDM 4th gen imports and their power-folding mirrors also both fold in/out at one press of the button too as far as i know..
perhaps you guys have a wire loose? or something is wrong with in the retro-fit.. assuming you retro-fitted them to a USDM 'lude.
