Default Help with CEL code 12 - EGR

Before you tell me to search, been there done that. Ive read multiple threads followed the trouble shooting and im still stuck. I even made a video to show someone else how to pull codes ...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vi_D2uqny3Q

anyways, what ive done ... removed and cleaned the egr/valve with carb cleaner, sprayed inside the holes, cleaned the manifold ports (i have one with welded ports, drilled the holes and plugged them with bolts), check all the hoses (still good). i pulled the fuse and left it out for about 15 mins, put it back in let the car warm up again and bam the CEL comes back on reading the same error.

did i do something wrong? i mean is there another way to reset the codes? or is there another soloution, something i havent tried yet?

You're confused. Your troubleshooting steps are for CEL 80 (insufficient flow), however you are getting CEL 12.

Go here and download the Helms manual. Read the pages indicated above.

I just downloaded the 93 Service Manual USDM from that site. Opened the PDF to Chapter 11 and it has page 154. Not sure where you went wrong.

Did you ever find a solution? I am havin the same problem. I tried to troubleshoot using a Helms manual, but I did not have access to a vacuum tester.

Going as far as I could with the troubleshooting, it seems that its either the EGR valve itself or my solenoid. I've seen several other threads where people had code 12 and were focusing on the EGR valve, yet still had the problem.

Has anyone had this code and found the solution to be another component of the system (ie solenoid or vacume valve)?

It seems like everyone lately is gettiing DTC 12. That was the major player in my emissions test failure. I got a 95 prelude si-vtec, my egr valve was stuck. Make sure you clean it thoroughly. it can still stay stuck or malfunction after cleaning. I use the Honda service manual downloaded here to troubleshoot and get my code cleared. Remove the fuse and negative battery cable. if the DTC still pops up, that means two things, your ECU is bad and or your EGR Valve and related components is either failing or failed to operate correctly. My buddys mechanic help me pass smog. got my NOx numbers down and did what he did and it worked beautifully. Vacuum pumps are about 40 bucks.

The EGR systems on these motors suck. The EGR ports in the intake are super tiny and plug up very easy. If it were me, I'd do a complete clean on the whole EGR system. Take off the intake and clean the tiny ports real good. Clean the valve or replace. Smoke machines work awesome for testing the entire vacuum system for leaks.
