Default H22/H23 Gear Ratios

So I am thinking about doing a motor swap from the H23 to the H22 engine. I was curious about the difference in gear ratios of the 2 engines.

Does anyone have personal experience in running the H23 tranny on the H22 engine?

Does it effect anything?

What are the benefeits of the H22 trans. over the H23?

Anything else I should know?

Yes I did search...my results.

if u keep the h23 trans on a h22. everytime u shift from redline, your out of vtec for a few rpms, then u grab it again, the h23 gearing is longer, if u take the h22 trans ull stay in vtec durring shifts. but **** if u wanna save gas, i dunno how much u will but grab the h23 longer gears.

I think it depends on how bad you want to stay in vtec

if i rev to jstu before the rev limit i do not drop out of vtec in an h23 trans, and i still dont do it in an accord wagon trans with even furhter gear spacing.

the diff in gearing between the h23 trans and USDM 92-96 h22 trans is noticeable, but its damn near the same as jdm 92-96 trasnmissions.

I have an M2S4 transmission (pretty sure this is suppose to be mated with an H23) in my 5th gen. For the most part it is fine ... the 1st to 2nd shift blows though. I can not shift out of 1st gear and still be in vtec in 2nd (it is usually about 100-200 rpms away from vtec). This is the only gear in which this happens though. 3rd, 4th, 5th are all fine.
