H honing statement
Just trying to find facts
How true is this statement? I know the process on how to hone is in the helms manual. If its within spec after honing, should you be worried about your rings seating?
h22a motors have f.r.m sleeves the sleeves are aluminium and have a special silicon finish on them and to the response of .020 not being alot to the eye its not alot but when it comes to machining it is .001 is normal when you have .004 you exceed some service limits why i tell people to sleeve h22a motors is so they can use which ever piston they want when you bore a h22a you must resilicon the sleeve you cant even hone it

If there aren't scratches deep enough to catch your finger nail or don't run the length of the bore then honing isn't even necessary. Just follow the Helms, it has all the information on Honing, service limits and if Honing is necessary or not.

So if I'm honing, would that mean I would get oversized pistons? I would have to get rid of my mahle pistons....

No, if you're just honing and it's still in spec, you're fine. If it takes it out of spec for stock size pistons (87mm), you can have it bored out to 87.25mm and get the appropriate sized pistons.

Are these gold series or regular forged? if you're going with a forged piston you will need to sleeve it. forged pistons won't work with FRM. Maybe you already knew, but just making sure. that woudl be a costly mistake. i've seen the aftermath on here before..
