Default Fresh up my prelude, bushing kit

Im looking to do some updating on some of the old parts on my prelude. I want to install a new carpet and master bushing kit, smooth the ride out a little bit.

My question being that I've never done either, can anyone explain install process for the carpet and bushing kit? Do I need any special tools like a press or anything?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, you will need a press for the bushing kit. I don't think you will need any special tools for the carpet but I have not replaced that.

One note about the master bushing kit if you are getting it from Energy Suspension: it does not come with the bushings for the front and rear sway bars so you may want to order those too and have them installed at the same time.

I had my master bushing kit put in by a trusted mechanic and he said it was quite a bit of work and he had to burn out one of the old bushings. Good luck.

Yea that's where I'm getting the kit and I got 273k on the suspension so I'm sure they r in there pretty good.

I wanted to DIY and planned on dedicating a full day to the job, just wondering anyone who's completed the job with first hand exp. maybe give me some pointers or problem areas to watch for. How many hours to complete?

And if U don't mind me asking, how much did ur mechanic charge u for the job?

A few years ago my mechanic charged me $500 labor to replace all the bushings. That included ~$80 for an alignment.
