i have the 4th gen S with f22a motor. i wanted to do the basic performance parts first, i/h/e...and i bought the n1 and aem v2. but i cant find a dc sports header. does anyone kno if dc makes or has made a header for the f22 prelude. and will an h23 header work on an f22? i heard its possible...thanks

i found it on a couple sites, but for some reason for our motor there expensive as ****...the cheapest i found stainless steel was 430 (shipped). Its Autodynamic.com can also try PlanetPerformance.com, just gotta look around.

and ive heard h23 headers work to put they take some modfication yoru better just go ahead and gettin whats right for your car 4-2-1 2 piece and if you wanted to modify that bore out the collector size...that shows good improvments for the DC headers...which ive heard are crap for ludes...but they do put up good numbers for the f22a

not very true, the money you spend to get a complete h22 swap...you could have the same power range with your f22...plus the block is way more reliable to be turbo'ing. Stick with your f22 buddy. Don't believe me read the accord forums alot of them have some decked out f22's. No hate on the 'H' series cause i love the h23 and h22...but if you got stuck with an f22 theres not really much of a reason to go cough out some more money just to get swapped.

I concur, I had an f22 and i hated it, even if you go h23 you'll be much more happy with your car

well some people have different tastes...im just sayin whats a cheaper route to have just about the same power...SOHC motors arent all tht bad having low-to-midrange power is a plus not a negative. Though ill agree DOHC motors in the long run are better.

I have a f22 in my 4th gen also. I was going to go the N/A route also but then i realized why spend all that money for a CAI, header, ect whenever you go forced induction. If you're like me and don't have 2000+ to spend on a swap just boost it. The f22 low compression makes for a good motor to boost. After it's done you'll have just as much or more power than a h22, then you can always crank up the psi.

if your gonna boost the f22, go to the junk yard and pick up an old dsm turbo and header, then youll need to drill a few holes in the header and itll fit right in,
but I wouldnt do it, even if you go with a ghetto turbo setup itll probably cost just as much an h22 swap,

listen to what you just said though...cost just as much...why not have a turbo set-up that you can boost to holy hell...then spend that much on a motor stock? i was goin to swap my motor out but i realized there was almost no point for me to spend 2,000-3,000 dollars for a motor thats only goin to be stock. Yeah theres more options i guess once you get the motor but if you'd put the 2 or 3 grand to your setup now...you could have an eqaully quick or quicker car.

Junkyard set-up costing 2,000? I know my set-up won't cost nearly that much and I'm not using DSM parts. The only thing I'm using thats DSM is injectors.

For $430 you could get a h22 transmission that would give you much better gearing for that low end torque and your car would feel like it had more power, the F22 tranny has REALLY tall gearing. I personally would avoid DC like the plauge at least when it comes to $430 for some shelf header.

Something that you could look into is doing an H23 head swap onto your F22 bottom end. That will give you better flow characteriszstics as well as more availability for aftermarket parts like headers/turbo manifolds. i personally would rather pay a little more for an h22 and get ALOT more reliability, than a turbo,
and the turbo setup could easily cost $2000, with fuel management and tuning costs and everything else your gonna need

you'd pay more to have a stock car? that makes no sense...even with tuning costs and everything you need for a turbo, turbo'in a f22 is so much cheaper and they run good times...if you have a h23 or h22 **** im glad for you, you got the good ****...but i dont see why you'd wanna spend so much to swap when you got a potential motor in your car now. F22 are reliable and who cares about reliability when you can find that motor at any junkyard for 400 or less...? you could buy three f22 and have a turbo by the time you saved for a h22

ive got an f22, but I just dont want to invest money into it,
I was considering turboin it, but if im gonna turbo a car im gonn do it right and build the engine up first, and the f22 is not worth investing that much money into,
u can go out an buy all the f22s u want but im gonna go get an h22, and have reliable car thats just as fast,
by the way, whats wrong with havin a stock car as long as its fast?

I concur.

The F22 is a good motor to boost, but if you don't want the hassles of a turbo (changing oil regularly, changing spark plugs regularly, making sure you don't overhead...etc) then stick with the H22 swap. Plus gas mileage with a turbo car is pretty bad.

I personally would not want to mess with modifications with the F22. H22 or H23 is a better option.

dont get me wrong but h22 arent ALL that fast stock...i wouldnt argue if it was something that was super duper but h22 come in preludes stock? so why didnt you just buy that model? and spend the money on the car for that motor instead of buying a car seperate then get the motor? ....and its not the same as buying a civic hatch or crx....preludes even with f22 have pretty hefty price used. I dunno im just sayin i dont think its all worth goin through so much hassle to have a motor that could of came in there stock. But...this is why your swapping and im turbo'in we got are own ways no point to argue
