Default exhaust smell after cat delete?

replaced my entire exhaust about a month ago (i'm broke so its all ebay stainless), and i came with a test pipe instead of a cat. its smelled kinda funky at first, and i figured it was just the new pipes and after a while it would go away. smells better now, but still different than it did with the cat installed.
so my question is without the cat to do what it does, will the exhaust smell that much different?

There's a reason the cat is there.

For the love of god, put a cat back on it ASAP. Your smelling toxic fumes... not a good idea!

$130? You're getting ripped off.

For a weld-on Magnaflow, you can get them as low as $70.
For a bolt-on Magnaflow, you can get them as low as $95.

You can sell the cat to a scrap yard. The metals inside are considerably valuable. The refund you can varies, but it can practically pay for a new cat.
Please get a new one asap.

yea, you coulda gotten some $$ for the cat so too bad you lost it but don't worry about putting one back on...there are already enough tree huggin/global warming loons out there and therefore some of us need to counteract their craziness. on top of that, the cat is the most restrictive component in an exhaust system. you'll see noticeable gains w/out a cat.

Without a Cat or a burned out one, the exhaust will be extraordinarily rich and smell terrible.

The only thing worse is a Nissan cat that IS working - I don't know what the hell they were thinking, but Nissan CAT's stink of sulfur from three cars away!

Yeah, because the fumes from a car exhaust with a catylitic converter are clean, helathy and fragrant. lol.

OP: The world won't implode if you leave the cat off. Might smell a little different but it is no less toxic than it is with a functioning cat.

A for Effort, C for Accuracy. Misspelled isn't hyphenated. Bigoted has one G. And I don't think he's a homophobe. He's probably just an immature pimple-popper that uses "queer" for anyone he doesn't like.

To all the Nuts saying no to cats: It's called AIR POLLUTION and is not good for humans! Of course, if you like it, you can cut your cat and re-route the exhaust to your interior. You might get around the block a couple times, if that.

"Mis-spelled" is a word. Look it up in the 2009 Random House dictionary.

Sorry, he's a bigot even if he's just an ignorant pimple popper that calls people he doesn't like "kwears."

You're adding capital letters in places where they don't belong and typing in incomplete sentences, so

Well last I checked, in a holistic sort of way, reproducing is not healthy for people.

Finite land mass and finite resources do not mix well with growth like this:

The world will end because of the breeders before my car pollution ends it.
