Default Help me in my decision

Which exhaust do you guys think is the best bang for the buck and is the best sound and performance wise. I want the best balance of the two. Im thinking of the following systems with a high flow cat:

Megan
Buddy Club
Skunk 2
Invidia
Tanabe

Will i throw a cel code with a high flow cat?

Apexi is very loud and deep, also gives a lot of power.
Greddy is deep and throaty but not as loud as Apexi.
Mugen is quiet and sounds really nice (95dbs).
Heard Skunk2 is pretty ricey and raspy.
Tanabe is loud and kind of ricey (friend had one on his civic si but he replaced it with a Mugen).
Putting a high flow cat will not throw the CEL.

I have an Invidia, its pretty damn loud and raspy, I'm looking for a new muffler to lower the sound a bit.

Tanabe Hyper Medalion is not very loud. The exhaust has been on my car for almost 3 year now and have had no issues with it. Pics of it in my signature. Tanabe racing medalion is the loud exhaust.

I reccomend the GReddy SP2 system, sounds great in combination with an aftermarket header and a true high flow cat, not some piece of metal off of ebay.

A real high flow cat will not throw a CEL, but ebay pipes will if you are OBDII (without o2 sim.).

I installed an Apexi WS along with SS DC header and an ebay test pipe all at the same time. i expected it to be fairly loud considering the open cat. however the 20" resonator and chambered muffler of the Apexi WS cat-back made for an exhaust that is almost completely silent at idle. It was extremely quite even while driving for about 6 monthes. however during this time it has slowly gotten louder. now it is still silent at idle. nice and deep 2k-4k and once i hit vtec it becomes rather loud !! but not raspy or ricey at all. so in my opinion i would recommend the WS. I couldnt be happier with it.

I have: Greddy 4-2-1 Header / MagnaFlow CarSound High-Flow Cat / RS*R ExMag Cat Back
I love this setup. Very subtle and powerful... I hear exactly what I want to hear and nothing I dont.

what about the budddy club with the built in silencer. from what im aware some exhausts do sound raspy without a resonsator. but if you put on a resonator that changes it. also ive heard good things about the megan with the megan high flow cat/resonator. i want sound clips!

I've heard the Apex'i N1 on a 5th gen and I think that all who have heard it will agree that it is one of the most raspy ricey sounding exhausts made. It is very loud, which is not my style, but to each is own, if you like any of the things that I have mentioned, by all means purchase it, but after a few months of driving around attracting every ricer on the road who is looking for a "race", you will be back on here again looking for info on a quiet exhaust.

does changing out a cat for a test pipe make it a lot louder and raspier sounds or just loud and deep?
