Default does your lude do this? Vtec malfunction-heat?

okay, so my engine used to freakout on me when i would hit VTEC.
it ended up being my VAFc not plugged in right...
got that fixed and it works great....but the thing is...i usually get in my car and i never beat it when its cold,
but when i see the temp at normal temp. sometimes i decided to try it...and when i hit vtec it boggs on me like a motha...

my mecanic explained the in and out functions of the VAFC since it over rides the comp on the vtec point but fuel timing etc dont go with it...if teh engine is stilll cold (anyway along those lines)

anyway...my question is this....do you have to wait untill your lude is really super hot until you really give her?

im thinking i might have a sensor problem because once the engine is really warm and im talking after a good 20 minutes of driving..then it starts going ok...but before that even though the gauge says the engine temp is ok, vtec tends to feel like it hesitates....

thanks

I always wait until it is about a 1/4 warm I do not know how harmful that is to your engine but I don't even take mine past 4k most of the time until it gets to the midpoint of the 4th gen temp gauge.

You should never beat on your car until its at operating temp.
