Does anyone want a free build? FRM Compatible pistons in the making...
Hey guys, I've been working in conjunction with a certain piston manufacturer for the past 6 months on having a special piston designed to run in the FRM lined cylinders.
After much research, we think we figured out what it takes in order to successfully run these forged pistons in a FRM lined cylinder. We also found out exactly why the mahle's fail. I will not give any details right now because I have too much research tied up into this for someone else to steal, but what I am looking for is someone willing to donate their car to us for 2 months. In return you will get an AV Engineering build block comprised of 1 free set of FRM compatible forged pistons, free labor, a set of eagle rods, and new bearings.
If your engine is damaged you will need to pay for machine work to fix what is wrong. We STRONGLY prefer to work with engines that are in perfect running condition (no spun bearings, no cracked ringlands, no mechanical running problems, etc). Right now we only have a 10.0:1 design for the h22a. If everything works as we anticipate it, we will have the pistons manufactured for the h23a1 as well. We will also require the car to be redelivered to us at 5,000 and 10,000 miles after the build for an inspection.
If you are interested, please respond in this thread with your set-up, location, and the amount of time you can go without your car.
Thanks.

Wow if I was in SC I would go without my car as long as needed, sounds like a good deal.

I have my motor out of my car right now and it is in perfect health as far as I know. You pay the shipping from 93230 and you can do it. I have not done a leak down test on this motor so I don't have an exact idea of the condition. A compression check shows it to be in excellent condition. Or at least what all you can find out from a comp test which is a whole lot of course. The car will be NA for touge and autocross. This is a purpose built cra that will be for the purpose of promoting my new business that should open soon. Call me at 559-633-0376 Stephen if you want to discuss it further. I was going to put the engine back in the car in a couple weeks but if you wanna do this I can wait longer it only means lots of other stuff will be done before the motor goes back in. It of course also means you will have to ship the motor twice although you will avoid dealing with the car and the engine's removal twice. let me know what you think. I would opt for higher comp pistons as well but I could probably work with that.

This is worth the gas it would take to get there, man if you were doing this about 2 months ago i would have drove it up there and flew back. Good Luck
And If you don't mind me asking, what is wrong with the Mahles, I haven't heard anything negitive about them since the rod fitment problem.

We provide you with services close to $4,500 and you want us to pay for gas?
We don't care where you are from. If you can get your car to us, we can do the work. We require doing everything from removing the engine to installing it back into the car and doing a tune from the very first start-up.
I know you guys can install an engine, but there are many determining factors that could lead to failure so therefore we require only OUR hands touch this engine.

when do you first need the car? I have a 1992 si 4ws lude with a freshly swapped jdm h22. compression is fine, don't know exact mileage because of th jdm factor, I coudl drive down and back a few times from western massachusetts. I drive a lot so your results woudl probably come back sooner than later. I have injen intake, dc 421 ceramic header, and thermal muffler w/ stock piping if that matters... pm me back if that sound tempting to you....

Re: (shutta)
Oh man, My 100% stock 94 vtec would love a free rebuild after all those miles in him. He's running perfect and it's a good candidate for it. But I need it until school is over in may. let me know. I'm in NJ about 6 or 7 hours away I think.

I have an H23A1 block and H22A1 head in my 92 Si. It used B OEM pistons, but the aftermarket forgies should work fine as the block is the same and the compression will be higher, but no contact will occur. I live north of Atlanta, GA. I can't remember exactly how far of a drive Charleston is from here, but I am sure I can wing it if given a bit advance to plan for work and school. I have family about halfway there, on the other side of SC, so it wouldn't be TOO much trouble
EDIT - Damnit, just saw the part about Eagle rods. Having a hard time reading the details at work. Well if they are floating wrist pin rods, I could get them rebushed, if necessary. Blah.

I live in Madison, North Alabama can go without a car for over 2 monthes and am able to come back whenever needed as long as its during a school holiday (Christmas, Summer, Thanksgiving, and etc). The car is a 2000 base Prelude with i/h/e has used Nitrous but that was awhile back... Was just inspected by a mechanic not over a month ago and the only problem was an O2 sensor and it was replaced he did a full out examination... He found nothing else wrong with it... Willing to drive etc..... Also would this affect any additions to the engine say i was going to add a SC soon or something along those lines would i have to wait until this was done? I am willing to wait if that is the case

92 SI located in Knoxville, TN
Factory H23 with 165k miles
Good compression, runs fine, no internal problems (needs some new gaskets here and there though )
I/H/E, high flow cat, 2.5" catback, 12lb flywheel, Crower stage 1 cams
I'm willing to go 2 months. I think I can handle it *tear*

Ok guys, I have read over everyones posts and I have narrowed it down a bit.
It looks like we will be able to accept 3 cars in total for this build.
