of a Prelude. I'm trying to replace the half-shaft, but don't have a ball joint remover. Any way to do this without the tool?

No, but I Had to unbolt my drivers side suspension to be able to get enough slack to move the intermediate shaft out of the transmission.

Sure you can, just unbolt the knuckle from the lca take it out and out comes the intermediate shaft. You may have to unbolt the tie rod end to get the knuckle up and out (i didnt have to to get it out but did to get it back in...odd). If you feel more comfortable seperating the ball joint go to autozone and use their lend a tool program.

Re: (VtecFreePrelude)
sorry yeah the lower control arm, just dont get frustrated and give up no matter what you do. It will take sweat, blood, and PB Blaster so be prepared. Oh yeah and a BFH (Big ****** Hammer). To get the knuckle out of the LCA take the castle nut off, turn it around, put it back on till its flush with the bolt and hammer till it pops loose.
