Default crower cams in turbo h23, lots of rattling.

I have adjustable crower cams in my h23, and I really want to get the valves adjusted because of how loud the rattling is on my car. Since I have a stock drivetrain, I can't really do much else. I was told that if I try to adjust the valves, I will seriously damage my valves. Does this sound like a true statement?

Sounds like a crap statement. Check the valve clearance and if it's not set to spec, then set it right.

I guess if you set the valve lash to some crazy number you could damage the valves, but why would you do that

Adjusting the valves is complicated kindof, I would let somebody who has done it before do it, not worth risking a motor.

my stock cams were sent off to crower to get adjusted, and that's why I can't adjust the valves, sounds better now lol

What?

How do you "adjust" cams? Can you elaborate on what Crower is doing?

wha? valve adjustments are part of routine maintenance. do it every 30000 miles or when ever valves move out of specification. makes a world of difference with fuel economy, burning oil, internal friction etc etc etc. If its a ticking most noticible at idle just do a valve adjustment. (DIY valve adjustment) <run search on it. its pretty simple. it can be done within about 45 minutes after car is jacked and front driver side tire is off.
