Crank pulley issues !!
I changed crankshafts on my 97h22 to a 92-96 crank because after taking it apart and found a spun bearing i got the block machined and found a used crank , my 97 crank bolt is too big for the 92-96 so i used the 92-96 crank bolt and the crank pulley is touching the timing case and rubbing it badly. If i am using the 97 crank pulley with the 97 timing case and i have a 92-96 crank, what pulley should i use to stop the rubbing of the timing case?

Im not sure but the 92-96 crank might not be the same lenght as the 97. You might want to try the 4th gen pully and see what happens.

ya im glad u didnt try to force the 97 bolt in the a1 crank. i think they have different theards, but i know they are not interchangable. ive used both cranks and pullys, but i dont have a timing cover...did u reinstall teh littel spacer thing on the back, as well as the balance shaft pully? ill look later at both pullys and see if i see a difference

close but wrong, 98+ are 55 mains...97 a4 is the only a4 with 50 mm mains

Is the lower timing cover installed correctly? Do you have all of the propper gears, washers on the crankshaft under the pulley?
