cmc question
94 honda prelude vtec
ok so my clutch pedal stuck to the floor yesterday. got a new clutch master cylinder, slave cylinder, and dot3 fluid.
removing my old cmc...all went well though the previous owner must have had a sack full of hammers in his head instead of a brain. first of all there was only one mounting nut holding the cmc on-the easy one to get to. second of all the locknut was not even finger tight.
i removed the old cmc without any problems. my question is for installing the new one. how far should the cmc go into the cotter pin holder thing? since the old one was loose im not really sure how far to have the cotter pin thing on.
i have read a few posts saying to loosen the locknut once the cmc is installed and to turn the pushrod until it stops moving and then to tighten the adjustment nut. do you do this with the clutch pedal down or up? is this the correct way to adjust the pushrod on the cmc?
