Changing wheel bearings. Question about the hub
The car is a 93 Prelude with a 5 lug conversion. Usually the wheel bearing goes out because: a) '99 axles were not used or b) washers were not used with the 93 axles.
So we changed out the old bearing and right before pressing the hub back in, we noticed this.

Our question is, can this hub still be used? Or needs to be replaced?
Im thinking when the axle is in there with some washers, and its torqued down there should not be any issues.. Any suggestions?

whats the price\time involved with replacing it?
that looks like crap, IDK if its as bad as it looks.
but I replaced my rear wheel bearings\hub, and mine didnt look anywhere near that and mine had 100K miles.

I have seen so many problems, when I do bearings I just always order the hub also. Too many times the old bearing race does not come off easily so just press a new bearing onto a new hub and be done with it, parts cost more, labor costs less, same price in the end and all new parts.

Re: Changing wheel bearings. Question about the hub
Wow, it looks like I need to send hubs from Japan, its pretty rare in my experience that parts (OEM) are cheaper in Japan than in the US.
