Re: (aquito)
i've seen some other hood pins that in my opinion were the cleanest looking ones i've ever seen. I had the link to the site that sold them but lost everything on my comp not to long ago. I ran into the hood pins somewhere here on ht though. Maybe someone else knows which ones i'm talking about. They are black and are used with a key. Lets see if i can track them down...

Because IMO Seibon makes the best carbon fiber products and it is most likely to be made closest to OEM spec.

get mugen hood pins pins are safer, i think its depends on the company that makes the hood. VIS is pretty good. I had a cf hood on my em and it worked great without pins.

I don't like the way hood pins look. The car looks way better without them. My hood flaps around a bit at speed, but I'm used to it and not worried about it.

I have a VIS as well, only problem is it seems "warped" and higher gap on passenger side, VS a flush fit on the driver side. Im talking about the space between the top of the headlight and the hood.

I used to have a VIS carbon-fiber hood and a VIS carbon-fiber trunk and both of them faded and hazed within one year... their customer service is horrible. Jotech Motorsports quit working with them as a result of their crappy customer sevice ( or lack thereof ).

if im spending the money i'd expect it to fit exactly like OEM, when was the last time you heard of an OEM hood flying up?? and what speeds do you perceive to be travelling lol its a prelude not a Lear Jet.
If its a good quality fitting hood, and is properly adjusted and gapped up, i cannot for the life of me wonder why on earth it would fly up. If it did, i'd be suing the maker for defective product.</TD></TR></TABLE>
Because the materials that carbon-fiber hoods are made out of are light. With that said, it doesn't take much air pressure to lift them away from the body of the car and out of their latch. You are failing to realize that a lot of air makes its way to the bottom side of a car's hood when driving.

i could never go fast enough to make my hood blow off. It DOES have to do with the quality, because its of good enough quality (In the sense that is constructed exactly to be the same as OEM) that the only situation it is going to blow off is if i was doing something bad enough to make the stock hood come off. dont be a smartass</TD></TR></TABLE>
That's the point... a carbon-fiber hood will fly up because it is not made of steel like an OEM hood is. It has nothing to do with quality, it has to do with the weight of the hood.

Well I couldn't afford nice hood pins. I don't really care since my carbon fiber hood was free and it isn't really in the best condition anyway. It's a night and day difference. I drove for a few months without any and the hood flopped a lot, especially behind a semi. I've had them on a couple days now and the hood does not move. I'm very happy now and not concerned about a hole in my windshield anymore.

98VTEC, they don't make those anymore, I've been trying to get in contact with the manufacturer and nothing.....
If you do get ahold of him. I want a pair!

Get a pair of those. They work exactly like hood pins, there's a lockable version, and you can get them to sit pretty close to flush. Race shops have started carrying them in recent monhts. Google is your friend.

Re: (aquito)
I don't have hood pins on either of my preludes for over 4 years now. VIS grade A hood on both ludes. So far so good. But I think I "should" put some on the track car
